Technical Delivery Manager
Technical Delivery Manager (TDM) or Technical Program Manager (TPM) for RDS (Relational Database Service) with AWS is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of database infrastructure, migrations, and modernization projects. They bridge the gap between technical teams (architects, engineers) and business stakeholders to ensure cloud initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and adhere to AWS best practices. Key Responsibilities Delivery Governance Owning the full lifecycle of RDS implementations, including scoping, scheduling, risk management, and quality assurance. Cloud Infrastructure Focus Managing AWS cloud infrastructure design, deployment, and migration efforts, specifically leveraging AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and RDS engines (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle). Technical Leadership Facilitating technical sessions to troubleshoot, removing blockers for DevOps/Engineering teams, and ensuring high-performance database design. Stakeholder Communication Acting as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, providing status reports, and managing expectations. Financial & Resource Management Managing capital budgets, optimizing resource utilization, and driving efficiency in AWS consumption. Required Skills and Qualifications AWS Expertise Deep understanding of AWS cloud services, specifically RDS, Aurora, and database migration strategies. Experience Level Typically 10-15+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years in senior delivery leadership roles. Technical Background Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). Project Methodologies Strong command of Agile/Scrum and Waterfall frameworks. Certifications AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Project Management Professional (PMP) are preferred.
