About The Job:
  • Own the end-to-end quality strategy for web/cloud applications by designing robust automation, proactively preventing defects, and rapidly restoring green pipelines when failures occur.
  • Partner across product, development, DevOps, and UX to drive a culture of reliability and continuous improvement.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Build and maintain automation frameworks ( Playwright with TypeScript).
  • Design, develop, and execute UI/API automation using Playwright (TypeScript); maintain modular frameworks, test data strategies, and reusable components.
  • Enter fire-fighting mode on test failures: triage quickly, isolate root causes (code, environment, data, infra), and restore passing status with minimal MTTR.
  • Perform deep technical troubleshooting across layers (frontend, API, logs, CI/CD runners, containers); apply systematic RCA and propose durable solutions.
  • Evaluate new tools/approaches (e.g., visual testing, contract tests, parallelization); build PoCs to validate feasibility, performance, and maintainability; socialize outcomes and lead rollouts.
  • Execute non-functional testing such as performance, load, usability, and accessibility
  • Integrate automation into CI/CD, optimize parallelization and agent usage; ensure timely submission and integration of test artifacts in configuration management systems.
Qualifications:
  • Education: B.E/B.Tech/MCA/M.E/M.Tech/MSc in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Experience: 5–10 years in test automation for web/cloud applications with a proven track record of owning failures to resolution.
  • Technical Skills: Playwright expertise; strong TypeScript coding practices; framework design; performance testing (e.g., JMeter); containers & orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes); CI/CD and SCM.
  • Professional Skills: Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving under time pressure; clear communication; aptitude for rapid PoC engineering.
  • Preferred: Software testing certifications (ISTQB or equivalent); experience with observability, contract testing, service virtualization.

Performance Indicators

  • Mean-time-to-repair (MTTR) for failed test pipelines.
  • Flake rate reduction and stability of critical test suites.
  • Lead-time for changes (automation integrated into CI/CD).
  • PoC success rate (adoption and measurable benefit).
  • Release readiness metrics (defect leakage, performance baselines).

Working Mode

  • Hands-on, proactive, and incident-ready; willing to jump into on-demand triage windows during critical release periods, including after-hours support when required.
  • Collaborative mindset; partners closely with Developers, Product Owners, and DevOps to prevent recurrence and continuously improve pipelines.
  • Tactical and execution-oriented; works closely with developers and DevOps to keep pipelines green and improve coverage.
