Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for the design and implementation of -
    • Understanding business requirements and data sets and translate into conceptual and logical data models
    • Data warehouse Target Data Modeling - Facts and Dimensions and Staging area based on Snowflake database
    • Materialized View, Secure views and other relevant database objects
    • Data extraction and integration from various sources - S3, streaming, relational, big data, API, etc.
    • Well versed with Incremental extraction and loads - batched and streaming
    • Data Migration including initial loads
    • Data analysis, source system analysis and preparing data mappings sheets
    • Writing complex Snowflake Data transformation jobs, queries and stored procedures / JavaScripts.
    • Supporting and providing directions for DevOps and CI/CD.
  • Conceptual, logical and physical (snowflake) data models and provide support to domain data SMEs
  • Adhering to FIL Data Modeling standards and guidelines
  • Work with senior staff and business leaders to identify requirement for data/information across the core business domains
  • Work with Project Managers and Business Analysts and other subject matter experts to prepare work breakdown structures, dependencies and suggest priorities
  • Working with Report and Dashboard developers to ensure data models are in line with reporting requirements
  • Warehouse designs. Query profiling and analysis to identify area of opportunities to reduce cost and to improve performance
  • Applying relevant security guidelines
  • Good analysis skills – to be able to join the dots across multiple applications and interfaces between them
  • Execute changes: document technical design specifications, development and testing
  • Perform POC, new integrations across multiple set of technologies and patterns related around data
  • Performing automated unit and integration tests, supporting UAT and production releases
  • Troubleshoot query, tools, systems, and software; performance-tune these applications as necessary
  • Guide/mentor juniors in the team and review code artefacts
  • Participate in SW development lifecycle at various stages (Requirement, Testing, SIT, UAT etc) for validation & verification of proposed solution for a business problem
Qualifications:
  • Experience and Qualifications Required
  • B.E./B.Tech. or M.C.A. in Computer Science from a reputed University.
  • 4-7 years overall experience within relevant technologies
Must Have -
  • Hands on experience in Snowflake preferably with SnowPro Core Certification.
  • Hands on experience in AWS development.
  • 3+ years of experience programming with Python or similar programming language.
  • 4+ years of experience with SQL.
  • Expertise in SnowSQL, Snowpipe, Role based access controls, ETL / ELT tools like Nifi, Snaplogic
  • Experience of working in DevOps environment. Version control and Git workflows.
  • Well versed with Data analysis, Data Warehousing and SDLC concepts.
  • Experience in software delivery and agile methodologies
  • Excellent software designing, programming, engineering and problem-solving skills
  • Strong experience working on Data Ingestion, Transformation (Stored Procedures / JavaScripts) etc
  • Experience in strategies for Data Testing, Data Quality, Code Quality, Code Coverage
  • Ability, willingness & openness to experiment / evaluate / adopt new technologies
  • Passion for technology, problem solving and team working
Good to Have -
  • Understanding of Automation, job scheduling, monitoring
  • Experience of terraform development & deployments.
  • Experience in Data Lake Concepts with Structured, Semi-Structured and Unstructured Data
  • Learnability- Ability to collectively push the boundary & pioneer the adoption and industrialisation of emerging data technologies in the organisation.
  • Passion for growing your skills and, tackling challenging problems
  • Self-motivated to rapidly pick new skills, work directly with senior techies and fellow technology teams in a cordial environment
  • Fungibility- Ability to flex in different roles as per project demand & willingness to move to new roles
