  • Education:
    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field from a recognized university.
  • Experience:
    10-20 years of relevant experience in chemistry commissioning or chemical engineering roles within the power or energy sector, preferably with exposure to large-scale projects and multidisciplinary team environments.
  • Certification Required :

Certified Water Treatment Specialist or equivalent certification in chemical/process commissioning or water chemistry. Safety and environmental compliance certification relevant to the Power/Energy sector is preferred.

  • Chemistry Commissioning Leadership: Lead and manage all chemistry commissioning activities across power plant projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, operations, and quality teams to develop and implement commissioning plans that integrate chemical analysis and treatment protocols effectively.
  • Process Optimization: Develop and optimize chemical treatment methodologies for water, steam, and fuel systems to enhance plant efficiency, minimize corrosion, and prevent scaling and fouling.
  • Quality Assurance & Control: Establish and maintain robust quality control measures during commissioning, including sampling, testing, and analysis of chemical parameters in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Compliance & Safety Management: Ensure all chemistry commissioning processes adhere to safety, environmental, and statutory guidelines, promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship aligned with Adani's values.
  • Team Development & Mentorship: Mentor and develop a high-performing team of chemists and technicians, fostering continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and professional growth.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed reports, logs, and documentation related to chemistry commissioning activities, providing clear insights and actionable recommendations for project stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary interface for all chemistry-related commissioning matters with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential chemical risks during commissioning and implement mitigation strategies to ensure uninterrupted and safe project execution.
  • Technology & Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging chemical treatment technologies and industry trends, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to enhance commissioning effectiveness.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Oversee budgeting and efficient allocation of resources related to chemistry commissioning activities to meet project timelines and cost targets.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work integrally with environmental, mechanical, electrical, and control systems teams to ensure chemistry commissioning aligns with overall project objectives and schedules.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in commissioning chemistry protocols, focusing on sustainability, operational excellence, and compliance with Adani's high-performance culture.
