Job Description – SAP GST Functional Consultant

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP GST Functional Consultant with strong domain expertise in Goods and Services Tax (GST). The candidate will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, configuring GST processes in SAP, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting integration with external GST systems. The role requires close collaboration with Finance, Tax, IT teams, and external partners to ensure smooth GST implementation and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand and implement GST requirements in SAP system as per Indian tax regulations.
• Configure and support GST processes in SAP modules such as SAP FI, MM, SD.
• Ensure accurate tax determination, input tax credit, invoice compliance, and reporting.
• Work with business users to gather requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
• Support integration with ASP/GSP partners (e.g., GST Suvidha Providers).
• Handle GST returns filing requirements such as GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2A reconciliation.
• Ensure compliance with latest GST regulatory changes and implement system updates.
• Perform testing, validation, and support during implementation or enhancements.
• Provide functional support for GST related issues and resolve system discrepancies.
• Collaborate with technical teams for enhancements, interfaces, and reports.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Indian Goods and Services Tax (GST) structure and compliance.
• Hands-on experience in SAP GST configuration.
• Experience in SAP FI, MM, SD modules.
• Understanding of tax procedures, pricing procedures, condition techniques.
• Experience working with ASP/GSP integrations such as DigiGST, ClearTax, Avalara, Tally integration etc.
• Knowledge of GST returns and reconciliation process.
• Ability to prepare functional specifications (FS) for technical team.
• Understanding of business processes in Finance and Supply Chain.
