Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
• Data Modeling: Develop conceptual, logical, and physical models for cloud-native GCP databases, ensuring high performance, scalability, and efficiency.
• GCP Specialization: Design models tailored for BigQuery, Cloud SQL, and Firestore, leveraging partitioning, clustering, and materialized views for cost-effective performance.
• Architecture & Design: Implement Medallion architecture (Bronze-Silver-Gold layers) and support data lake/warehouse strategies.
• Data Governance: Define naming conventions, standards, metadata management, and data lineage.
• Collaboration & Leadership: Translate business requirements into technical specs, collaborate with data engineers for ETL/ELT, and mentor junior staff.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Experience: 8+ years in data modeling, with substantial experience in cloud environments (specifically GCP).
• Technical Expertise: Advanced SQL, Erwin Data Modeler or similar tools, and understanding of NoSQL/relational databases.
• Methodologies: Deep understanding of dimensional modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT principles.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, stakeholder management, and analytical problem-solving skills.
Common Education/Certifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Relevant GCP certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer) are highly desirable.
