Client: Company established in 1982 & It is a public limited company manufacturing chemicals for Textiles, Home Care & Personal Care Products & having employee strength of 80 White Collar & 150 Blue Collar persons. Company is having their plant at Changodar & Office at ISKON Circle, Ahmedabad.
Job Description: HR Head
Location: Changodar & Iskon Circle, Ahmedabad
Experience: 6-10 Years
Qualification: MBA/PGDM / MSW / MA in HR / IR / Personnel Management / Labour Welfare from a reputed institute.
Salary Range: ₹ 12 LPA to 15LPA
Work Timing: 9:45 AM to 6:30 PM ( Mon-Sat)
Job Description: HR Head
1. Strategic HR Leadership
-
Develop and execute HR strategy aligned with business goals, manufacturing scale-up plans, and the company's vision as a listed entity.

Partner with the MD, CFO, Plant Head, and functional heads on manpower planning, organization design, and succession planning.

Present HR scorecards, IR status, and compliance dashboards to the Management.

Drive HR digitization (HRMS, attendance, payroll, compliance automation).
2. Industrial Relations (IR)
-
Maintain healthy industrial relations across the plant, with workmen, supervisors, and contract labour, wages management.

Build a proactive grievance redressal mechanism and prevent unrest, slowdowns, or stoppages.
3. Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure 100% compliance with all applicable central and Gujarat-state labour, industrial, and chemical-sector regulations, including:

Factories Act, 1948 and Gujarat Factories Rules

Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, 1970 and rules - registration of principal employer, vendor licenses, muster, wage compliance for ~50 contract workers

EPF & MP Act, ESI Act, Payment of Gratuity Act, Payment of Bonus Act, Payment of Wages Act, Minimum Wages Act (Gujarat notifications), Equal Remuneration Act

Maternity Benefit Act; Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (POSH) Act - constitute and run the Internal Committee

Apprentices Act and NAPS/NATS engagement
-
Shops & Establishments Act (Gujarat)
-
Labour welfare fund, Professional Tax (Gujarat)
-
Coordinate with EHS on Factories Act safety provisions, hazardous process rules, occupational health, and onsite emergency plans.
4. Listed Company / Governance Obligations
-
Ensure HR-related disclosures in the Annual Report, BRSR (Business Responsibility & Sustainability Report) - workforce data, complaints, training hours, gender diversity, wage ratios, human rights, etc.

Support the NRC on KMP/Senior Management remuneration policy, ESOP administration (if applicable), and performance evaluation framework.

Comply with SEBI LODR Regulation 17/19 HR-linked requirements and Companies Act, 2013 provisions on KMP, related party HR transactions, and CSR linkage.

Maintain insider trading code awareness within HR and orient new joiners on the Code of Conduct.
5. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Management
-
Lead end-to-end recruitment for plant, R&D, QC/QA, EHS, sales, and corporate functions. Succession Planning for identified critical roles.

Manage manpower budgeting for 67 payroll staff + 11 payroll workers + ~50 contract workers; optimize cost per employee and contract-to-permanent ratio.

Build a vendor management framework for manpower contractors, due diligence, license verification, statutory remittance audits, and ethical labour practices.
6. Payroll, Compensation & Benefits

Own monthly payroll for ~78 on-roll personnel with full statutory accuracy (PF, ESI, PT, TDS, LWF).

Design and benchmark compensation structures for staff and workmen; manage annual increments, variable pay, and long-term settlement payouts.

Administer Gratuity, Superannuation, Group Mediclaim, GPA, and other benefits.
7. Performance, Learning & Culture
-
Implement KRA/KPI-driven performance management for staff and skill-matrix-based assessment for workers.
-
Drive training calendars covering technical, behavioural, safety (mandatory for chemical units), and POSH/Code of Conduct topics.

Lead employee engagement, rewards & recognition, and culture-building initiatives.
8. Administration & Welfare
-
Oversee plant and office administration, security, canteen, transport, housekeeping, uniforms, statutory welfare amenities under the Factories Act.
9. Candidate Profile
-
Qualifications: MBA/PGDM / MSW / MA in HR / IR / Personnel Management / Labour Welfare from a reputed institute.
-
PG Diploma in Labour Laws will be a strong advantage.
10. Experience
-
6-8 years of progressive HR/IR experience with a manufacturing company.

Prior experience in a listed company is highly preferred.

Demonstrated track record of independently handling Gujarat-based plant IR.
11. Technical Knowledge
-
In-depth command over Indian labour laws and Gujarat-specific rules and notifications.
-
Working knowledge of the new Labour Codes (Wages, Industrial Relations) and their implementation roadmap.

Hands-on with HRMS / payroll software and compliance tools.
12. Skills & Attributes
-
Strong negotiation, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder management skills.

Fluent in Gujarati, Hindi, and English essential for shop-floor and statutory interactions.

High integrity, board-room maturity, and ability to operate in a promoter-driven listed company environment.

Data-oriented, with the ability to present HR analytics to leadership.
