Job Summary
This product-focused role is responsible for executing established and emerging technical tasks at the subsystem and component level for current and future high horsepower engine products. The position spans multiple stages of the product lifecycle and acts as a central coordination point between cross-functional teams including product engineering, systems engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, suppliers, and customer-facing teams.
The role requires independent decision-making, ownership of complex components or projects, and active contribution to product quality, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and execute product engineering activities for high horsepower engine components and subsystems across the product lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (technical managers, project leaders, suppliers, manufacturing, and customer teams) to drive quality product decisions.
- Develop, maintain, and manage Engineering BOM (EBOM), SBM, and ensure adherence to design standards such as GD&T.
- Support and drive New Product Introduction (NPI) and New Source Introduction (NSI) initiatives.
- Apply and improve engineering processes such as Engineering Standard Work (ESW), iDFMEA, and Failure Incident Review Group (FIRG).
- Conduct failure analysis and implement robust problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 7-step problem solving).
- Lead product verification and validation activities, including analysis, simulation, and physical testing.
- Identify, analyze, and manage product interfaces and system integrations across subsystem boundaries.
- Translate stakeholder requirements into verifiable system and component-level specifications.
- Manage product configuration and change control processes throughout the lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation to support design decisions and knowledge transfer.
- Provide technical leadership for smaller projects or complex components, ensuring quality, cost, and timeline adherence.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, technicians, and trainees; support capability building within the team.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering tools, processes, and methodologies.
