Essential Job Functions:
- In your role as a Linux and Virtualization engineer you will be part of first response to Business systems in a 24x7 follow the sun model.
- This will entail alert management, OS troubleshooting and working to restore service in a robust Enterprise Environment.
- Monitoring of Linux/Unix systems
- Troubleshooting of systems
- Alert management
- Incident Management
- Working with clients across our Business Units to maintain and restore service
- Automation of activities through scripting and configuration management
- Working with Hardware teams to maintain the physical server estate
- Documentation of processes and procedures for the team
- Minimum 5 years of Unix/Linux systems administration experience
- Strong core OS troubleshooting experience
- Experience in Red Hat Linux Administration
- Virtualization experience in VMware
- Networking knowledge/skills
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise-grade server hardware such as Client and Client rackmount servers
- Experience using remote management interfaces like Client iDRAC, Client iLO, VMware vCenter/vSphere
- An automation-first mindset
- Incident management experience
- Prior experience in the Financial Service Industry is a plus
- Prior Enterprise experience is a plus
- Relevant certifications are a strong plus
