This role combines people leadership, project execution, operational oversight, and cross-functional coordination.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, technically credible, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving priorities.\n\nThis person will work closely with the Head of India and US based project management team, leadership and scientists, and engineers to ensure projects remain on track, deliverables meet quality expectations, and team members are supported and developed.\n\nThe role requires strong communication skills, accountability, and the ability to mentor early-career scientists and interns while helping establish a high-performance and collaborative culture.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nTeam Leadership & Development\nLead the day-to-day management of the India laboratory and technical team\nMentor interns and junior team members, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development support\nFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, urgency, and continuous improvement\nConduct regular check-ins with team members to monitor progress and address challenges\nSupport employee growth through feedback, training, and development opportunities\nAssist with hiring coordination, onboarding, and team integration efforts as needed\n\nProject & Operational Management\nPartner closely with the Project Manager to ensure timelines, milestones, and deliverables are achieved\nHelp drive execution of project plans across technical and cross-functional teams\nTrack task completion and proactively escalate risks, blockers, or resource constraints\nEnsure deliverables meet internal quality and scientific standards\nHelp establish and improve operational processes, communication workflows, and team coordination\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nServe as a key liaison between the India team and U.S.-based teams\nCoordinate across functions to ensure alignment on priorities, dependencies, and timelines\nSupport communication and collaboration across time zones and technical disciplines\nHelp the Head of India and US based leadership maintain visibility into team progress, operational risks, and execution priorities\n\nHR & Administrative Oversight\nReview and coordinate PTO requests and team scheduling\nServe as a resource for general employee questions and operational support\nHelp reinforce company policies, expectations, and performance standards\nSupport a positive and professional work environment\n\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nAdvanced degree in a scientific discipline, finance or management\n10+ years of professional experience in a scientific, laboratory, or technical environment\nPrevious experience managing or supervising technical or scientific teams\nStrong organizational and project coordination skills\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English\nExperience collaborating with U.S.-based teams or international stakeholders\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced startup environment\nStrong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members\nAbility to work onsite in the New Delhi location 5 days a week\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nStartup or high-growth company experience strongly preferred\nExperience working in multidisciplinary environments involving biology, engineering, software, or data science teams\nExperience mentoring interns or junior scientists\nFamiliarity with technical project execution
