Database Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Database (12c/19c or higher) and PostgreSQL in enterprise environments.
- Manage Oracle RAC for high availability and scalability.
- Perform database upgrades, patches, migrations, and cluster maintenance.
- Design, configure, and manage Oracle GoldenGate for real-time replication across heterogeneous platforms.
- Implement logical/physical replication in PostgreSQL (e.g., Streaming Replication, Logical Replication).
- Ensure replication integrity, monitor latency, and troubleshoot replication issues.
- Perform SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and database parameter tuning.
- Optimize RAC cluster performance and troubleshoot interconnect issues.
- Tune PostgreSQL configuration for high performance in OLTP and analytical workloads.
- Implement and manage RMAN for Oracle and native tools for PostgreSQL (pg_dump, PITR).
- Create and maintain disaster recovery strategies for both Oracle and PostgreSQL.
- Manage roles, privileges, auditing, and encryption for both database platforms.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, audit, and regulatory standards.
- Use tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), pgAdmin, and monitoring platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
- Proactively monitor databases for performance, availability, and reliability.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Experience: 7 – 10 years in database administration with both Oracle and PostgreSQL.
- Strong expertise in Oracle RAC administration and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate for real-time replication.
- Practical knowledge of PostgreSQL high availability, replication, and performance tuning.
- Strong skills in SQL, PL/SQL, and query optimization.
- Proficiency with RMAN, pg_dump, PITR backups, and restores.
- Good Linux/Unix system administration skills.
- Scripting in Shell, Python, or Perl.
