Senior Solution Architect - Offshore
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Senior Solution Architect owns the end-to-end technical solution for communications and infrastructure proposals, designing compliant system architectures, integrating multi-vendor inputs, and translating complex technical designs into compelling proposal content for government customers. This role supports capture strategy, proposal development, technology evaluation, and strategic planning while operating effectively in a collaborative, fully remote environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop end-to-end technical solutions for unsolicited and RFP-based communications and IT infrastructure proposals.
- Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, subcontractors, and technology partners to gather specifications, validate compatibility, and integrate components into compliant solution architectures.
- Develop bills of materials, system diagrams, technical narratives, proposal plans, schedules, and compliance matrices for assigned pursuits.
- Author technical and management approach volumes and support proposal reviews to ensure compliance with solicitation instructions and evaluation criteria.
- Support capture activities by contributing to value proposition development, competitive assessments, price-to-win considerations, and bid/no-bid decisions.
- Participate in virtual customer engagements, technical presentations, capability briefings, and white paper development ahead of formal solicitations.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, monitor market trends, conduct vendor capability analyses, and recommend new solutions for the company portfolio.
- Contribute technical insight to strategic planning by identifying target agencies, contract vehicles, capability gaps, and solution investment priorities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong knowledge of RF engineering principles, including propagation, interference, intermodulation, link budget calculations, and antenna system design.
- Understanding of wireless networking principles, protocols, and related technologies.
- Familiarity with IP networking and infrastructure components such as routers, switches, firewalls, and related equipment.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, persuasive, and compliant proposal language.
- Experience coordinating multi-vendor technical inputs and building cohesive solution architectures.
- Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, and partner relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple concurrent pursuits, and rapidly learn new technologies in a remote environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, or an equivalent technical field focused on communications systems.
- Minimum 10 years of experience developing technical solutions and writing proposals for complex communications or IT infrastructure programs.
- Demonstrated experience authoring technical and management proposal volumes for complex solicitations and understanding compliance requirements and evaluation processes.
- Preferred: Experience with government communications programs and major wireless broadband OEMs such as Nokia, Ericsson, or Samsung.
- Preferred: Experience with DAS, BDA, ERCES, land mobile radio (LMR), P25, public safety communications, PON, or fiber optic systems.
- Preferred: Familiarity with federal cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST SP 800-171 or FISMA and experience with RF planning, link budget, or CAD design tools.
- Preferred: Master's degree in business administration, engineering, or a related technical field.
