Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Linux, Patching & Vulnerability Management (CI/CD Platforms)
Team Context
SRE is a core engineering squad responsible for the reliability, security, and operational excellence of the CI/CD ecosystem that powers continuous delivery across the organization.
The team operates and scales large, productiongrade CI/CD and DevSecOps platforms, ensuring they are secure, patched, resilient, and highly available. We work closely with security, infrastructure, and development teams to embed SRE principles, proactive vulnerability management, and standardized patching practices across cloudnative and hybrid environments.
Your Responsibilities
Site Reliability Engineering & Platform Operations
- Own the reliability, availability, and security posture of CI/CD platforms and their underlying infrastructure.
- Administer, harden, and continuously improve Linux-based systems hosting CI/CD and DevSecOps tooling.
- Design and operate patch management strategies (OS, middleware, runtime, and tooling) with minimal service disruption.
- Implement proactive vulnerability detection, prioritization, remediation, and reporting in collaboration with security teams.
- Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and operational runbooks for platform stability and incident response.
Patching, Vulnerability & Security Engineering
- Lead vulnerability management across CI/CD platforms, containers, and supporting infrastructure.
- Analyze vulnerability scans (OS, container, dependency) and drive timely remediation aligned with risk and SLAs.
- Automate patching workflows using scripting and infrastructureascode wherever possible.
- Ensure compliance with security baselines, hardening guidelines, and internal/external audit requirements.
- Reduce security toil through automation, standardization, and preventive controls.
CI/CD Platform Engineering
- Administer and support CI/CD tools such as ArgoCD, Jenkins, GitHub / GitHub Actions, XL DeployIT, and Artifactory.
- Support GitOpsbased deployment workflows using ArgoCD, Helm, and Kubernetes.
- Ensure CI/CD platforms are secure, patched, scalable, and operationally resilient.
- Troubleshoot complex platform and pipeline issues with an SRE mindset (MTTR, root cause, prevention).
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Apply SRE principles such as error budgets, SLIs/SLOs, postincident reviews, and capacity planning.
- Drive improvements that reduce operational risk, unplanned outages, and manual intervention.
- Partner with development and product teams to ensure CI/CD platforms meet reliability, security, and compliance expectations.
- Document systems, architectural decisions, and operational procedures clearly and consistently.
