About The Job:
  • We are looking for a proactive Oracle EBS L1.5 Finance Support Consultant to join our support team.
  • This role is designed for professionals with intermediate-level experience in Oracle EBS Finance modules (AP, AR, GL, FA, CM).
  • You will be responsible for providing functional support for day-to-day operations, managing incidents, resolving issues, and escalating complex problems to L2/L3 teams when necessary.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Oracle EBS finance functionalities and be able to quickly address user issues while ensuring minimal disruption to business processes.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Level 1.5 Support for Oracle EBS Finance Modules:
    • Provide functional support for Oracle EBS Finance modules (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Cash Management).
    • Troubleshoot and resolve user-reported issues, with a focus on functional, configuration, and procedural challenges.
    • Serve as the first point of contact for functional issues, ensuring accurate diagnosis and resolution or escalation to the appropriate team.
  • Incident & Service Request Management:
    • Log and track support requests in the ticketing system, ensuring they are categorized, prioritized, and addressed in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
    • Collaborate with end users to identify business process challenges, document them, and implement effective solutions within Oracle EBS Finance.
    • Escalate unresolved issues to Level 2 (L2) or Level 3 (L3) support teams, ensuring timely follow-up and closure of tickets.
  • Functional Troubleshooting:
    • Resolve common Oracle EBS issues related to finance processes (e.g., data entry errors, report generation problems, posting issues).
    • Identify recurring problems and suggest preventative measures or solutions to reduce future incidents.
    • Perform root cause analysis of minor incidents and propose corrective actions.
  • Configuration Assistance & Change Management:
    • Provide assistance with minor configuration changes within Oracle EBS Finance modules, ensuring that system settings are aligned with business requirements.
    • Support the implementation of change requests under the guidance of the L2/L3 teams, including testing and documentation.
  • User Support & Communication:
    • Assist finance users with day-to-day queries, offering solutions to common issues and guiding them through Oracle EBS functionality.
    • Educate end-users on best practices for utilizing Oracle EBS to streamline finance operations and prevent user errors.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Base Maintenance:
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge base articles and troubleshooting guides for frequently encountered issues and solutions.
    • Ensure that all support activities are properly documented, creating a reference for future incidents and inquiries.
  • System Monitoring & Testing:
    • Regularly monitor the Oracle EBS Finance modules to identify issues, inconsistencies, or system performance concerns.
    • Support testing activities during patch updates, minor system enhancements, or user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Reporting & Analytics:
    • Assist in generating reports from Oracle EBS for finance teams, troubleshooting issues related to reporting.
    • Support users in configuring basic reports or queries to meet business needs.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
    • Work closely with other IT teams (e.g., DBA, technical support) to address issues that may require a technical intervention.
    • Collaborate with the L2/L3 teams to escalate complex issues and ensure timely resolutions.
Qualifications:
  • Experience:
    • 5 years of experience in Oracle EBS Finance support or functional consulting (AP, AR, GL, FA, CM).
    • Prior experience in an L1 or L2 support role in an Oracle EBS environment is preferred.
    • Experience with financial business processes and understanding of accounting principles.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Basic understanding of Oracle EBS R12 or later versions, including key finance modules.
    • Familiarity with Oracle Reports, BI Publisher, and/or other reporting tools.
    • Basic knowledge of SQL for querying data or performing minor data fixes.
  • Functional Expertise:
    • Understanding of core finance business processes such as AP, AR, GL, FA, and month-end/year-end closing procedures.
    • Ability to perform basic configurations within Oracle EBS Finance modules (e.g., ledger setup, payment terms, journal entries).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve issues efficiently.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical users.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple support requests simultaneously.
  • Certifications (Optional):
    • Oracle Certified Implementation Specialist (OCS) in Oracle EBS Finance or other relevant certifications would be a plus.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Relevant ERP or finance-related certifications are an advantage.
