Conduct a thorough assessment of existing DB2 databases. Develop a comprehensive migration plan, including timelines, resource requirements, and risk management strategies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and database usage patterns. Convert DB2 schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, and other database objects to PostgreSQL equivalents in GCP Environment
• Develop and implement data migration strategies to ensure data integrity and minimal downtime.
• Optimize and fine-tune PostgreSQL databases post-migration for performance and scalability.
• Create and maintain scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL). Automate migration processes wherever possible to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
• Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Perform performance testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve any issues. Validate the successful migration of all database components and data.
• Document all migration processes, configurations, and settings. Provide training and support to database administrators and development teams on the new PostgreSQL environment.
