Job Description:
1.Administer, maintain and support Linux operating systems and exposure to UNIX flavours of RHEL, OEL, Ubuntu and CentOS
2.Resolve major incidents and technical escalations within agreed SLAs and quality
3.Problem Management: Perform root cause analysis for problems and major incidents, provide workarounds to ensure business continuity and prepare RCA reports 4.Change Management: Prepare Implementation plan, rollback plan and test plan, risk and impact analysis for critical or complex changes. R

8.Roles & Responsibilities
1.Administer, maintain and support Linux operating systems and exposure to UNIX flavours of RHEL, OEL, Ubuntu and CentOS
2.Resolve major incidents and technical escalations within agreed SLAs and quality
3.Problem Management: Perform root cause analysis for problems and major incidents, provide workarounds to ensure business continuity and prepare RCA reports
4.Change Management: Prepare Implementation plan, rollback plan and test plan, risk and impact analysis for critical or complex changes. Review the change plan and documentation prepared by peers
5.Participate in CAB meetings as needed and assist change manager in techno-operations decision process
6.Install hardware and software, maintain appropriate service levels, performance tuning and firmware upgrades across multiple hardware platforms
7.Perform advance tasks such as, capacity planning, performance monitoring, provide recommendations for improvement and implement or oversee implementation of the recommendations
8.Perform system software upgrades including planning / scheduling, testing, coordination, and maintaining integrity of operating system environment
9.Harden operating system parameters in line with client / Dimension Data security policy, standards or best practices
10.Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages
11.Ability to patch/release management and ensure all packages are deployed efficiently and to ensure appropriate resolution of patching issue
12.Knowledge on anti-virus solutions, Cisco AMP, McAfee - EPO
13.Knowledge on Patch Management tool like Altiris, BigFix, etc
14.Respond to outages both during normal business hours and after-hours on a need basis (on-call support)
15.Documentation, knowledge sharing and training of peers
16.Coordinating and interfacing with outside vendors, end users, other department team members, and service providers to resolve issues
17.Analyse data, oversee and contribute to service improvements
