Job Summary\n\nSeeking a senior IBM Sterling Commerce OMS experienced in IBM Managed Cloud Offering (MCS) with deep skills in product optimization, customizations, and high-volume performance engineering. The role includes defining and executing cloud-specific performance strategies, ensuring Sterling OMS runs at enterprise scale.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nCloud-Focused OMS Architecture\n• OMS solutions optimized for IBM Managed Cloud Offering.\n• Ensure all customizations follow upgrade-safe and MCS-compliant design patterns.\n• Align solutions with IBM cloud deployment architecture and operational constraints.\n\nProduct Optimization Through Customizations\n• Customize Sterling APIs, services, user exits, agents, and pipelines for product-level optimization.\n• Enhance throughput and efficiency across order capture, promising, inventory, and fulfillment flows.\n• Drive root-cause analysis and resolve deep product bottlenecks using controlled custom code expansions.\n\nPerformance Engineering (Cloud + Product Level)\n• Tune Sterling services, JVM, caches, and DB access for cloud-hosted environments.\n• Optimize integration flows (REST/SOAP/MQ/Kafka) to support high TPS.\n\nStrategy & Planning Performance Optimisation:\n• Identify critical business flows (Order Creation, ATP/Promising, SFS/BOPIS, Inventory Updates, Payment flows).\n• Design tests to evaluate OMS customizations for latency, throughput, and CPU/memory footprint.\n\nTooling & Execution\n• Leverage MCS-provided monitoring tools (logs, APM dashboards, JVM stats).\n• Validate agent scheduling, queue throughput, and DB query performance under load.\n\nEnvironment & Dependencies\n• Work with IBM MCS to provision performance test environments with appropriate sizing.\n• Coordinate integration performance tests with ERP, WMS/TMS, payment gateways, Kafka streams, etc.\n\nAnalysis & Optimization\n• Analyse CPU, heap, GC, DB locks, slow SQLs, and integration latencies.\n• Recommend custom code refactoring or configuration tuning for optimal cloud performance. Hands On Must…!\n• Ensure the system meets SLAs for response time, throughput, and operational stability.\nRequired Skills\n• 10 years in IBM Sterling OMS with strong customization + optimization experience.\n• 2–3 years delivering solutions on IBM OMS Managed Cloud preferred.\n• Advanced Java/J2EE, XML, SQL, performance profiling.\n• Deep knowledge of Sterling pipelines, APIs, agents, SDF, and orchestration.\n• Hands-on with load testing & performance monitoring tools.
