F5 Engineer JD:
- Extensive experience with BIG-IP LTM, GTM, APM & ASM in a large, shared environment
- Design and implement Load Balancing solutions using industry best practices.
- Deploy, operate, and maintain highly available networks using Local Traffic Manager (LTM) and Global Traffic Manager (GTM) technologies.
- Hands on technical experience with and very knowledgeable on LAN/WAN operations, protocols, and concepts (TCP/IP, UDP, SSL, Encryption, DNS, SNMP, HTTP etc), UNIX or Linux operating systems, networking hardware and virtual environments
- Support Secure Socket Layer / Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) offloading and brokering PKI authentication provided by the F5 Load Balancer
- Experience in custom SSL, ciphers and LTM traffic performance optimization
- Perform software upgrades, routine backups, LTM/GTM performance monitoring of F5 Load Balancer infrastructure.
- Perform daily operational tasks in operating and maintaining the enterprise F5 load balancers in on-premises/cloud environments.
- Proficiency in writing basic iRules and troubleshooting.
- Perform security hardening of F5 devices, good knowledge on vulnerability remediation.
- Experience in Authentication mechanisms and strategies with APM
- Knowledge of TCPdump and packet capture and analysis
- Deep understanding of networking, firewalls and system administration and the ability to troubleshoot problems.
- Develop or contribute to technical documentation including low level design documentation, standard operating procedures, deployment/build plans.
- Communicate Load Balancer architecture designs/flows clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical decision makers.
