About The Job:
- The Senior Business Analyst – Advanced Analytics & Data Science is a highly autonomous individual contributor responsible for translating complex business problems into analytical frameworks and predictive models that drive strategic decision-making. This role combines deep business acumen with data science and modeling expertise, serving as a trusted thought partner to senior stakeholders while delivering scalable, data-driven insights across the organization.
- This role operates with significant independence, influences strategy through insight rather than authority, and sets analytical standards and best practices across teams.
Strategic Business Analysis
- Partner with senior leaders to frame ambiguous business problems, define success metrics, and identify data-driven opportunities aligned to company strategy.
- Translate business objectives into analytical hypotheses, modeling approaches, and measurable outcomes.
- Drive clarity on tradeoffs, risks, and dependencies using quantitative analysis and structured problem-solving.
- Advanced Analytics & Modeling
- Design, develop, and maintain advanced analytical models (e.g., predictive, prescriptive, causal, or segmentation models) to support decision-making.
- Apply statistical methods, machine learning, and forecasting techniques to identify trends, drivers, and leading indicators.
- Validate models through rigorous testing, sensitivity analysis, and performance monitoring to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Insight Generation & Storytelling
- Synthesize complex analytical outputs into clear, executive-ready insights with actionable recommendations.
- Communicate findings using compelling narratives, visualizations, and data storytelling tailored to senior and non-technical audiences.
- Influence decisions by clearly articulating “so what,” implications, and recommended actions.
- Data & Process Excellence
- Collaborate with data engineering, BI, and product teams to ensure data quality, availability, and usability for analytical initiatives.
- Establish best practices for analytical rigor, documentation, and reproducibility.
- Identify opportunities to operationalize models and insights into business processes, systems, or decision workflows.
- Leadership Without Authority
- Act as a subject-matter expert and mentor to other analysts through guidance, peer reviews, and thought leadership.
- Shape analytical roadmaps and standards across teams without direct people management responsibility.
- Challenge assumptions and elevate analytical thinking across cross-functional partners.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in business analysis, analytics, data science, or a related field in a complex enterprise environment.
- Strong foundation in statistics, quantitative analysis, and data modeling techniques.
- Proven experience building and interpreting predictive or advanced analytical models.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and at least one analytical or data science language (e.g., Python, R).
- Experience translating complex analytical work into executive-level insights and recommendations.
- Exceptional problem-framing, critical-thinking, and structured communication skills.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks and model deployment concepts.
- Familiarity with experimentation, A/B testing, and causal inference methods.
- Experience working with customer, revenue, retention, or operational datasets.
- Knowledge of modern analytics platforms, cloud data ecosystems, or visualization tools.
- Background in change management or operationalizing analytics into business workflows.
