Role Descriptions: Role: CIAM Engineer (Customer Identity & Access Management)
Summary
The CIAM Engineer is responsible for implementing and supporting a Central Identity Manager (CIM) platform with a focus on secure customer authentication, identity lifecycle, and access control. The role involves hands-on configuration of CIAM solutions, building user journeys, and integrating applications using modern identity protocols.
Responsibilities
"Configure and manage Microsoft Entra External ID (CIAM) environments, including tenant setup and isolation strategies.
"Implement and manage Azure RBAC roles and administrative access controls for identity governance.
"Build and maintain CIAM user flows (sign-up, sign-in, profile edit, password reset).
"Configure Conditional Access policies tailored for customer scenarios (risk-based access, device/location conditions).
"Implement and enforce MFA controls and session management policies.
"Design and implement CIAM security configurations, ensuring compliance with best practices.
"Configure and manage customer attributes, claims, and directory schema.
"Support OIDC-based authentication flows and integrate applications using OAuth2.0 / OpenID Connect.
"Troubleshoot authentication issues and support token/session validation scenarios.
"Collaborate with architects and application teams to ensure secure and seamless CIAM integration.
Required Skills
"Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra External ID (CIAM)
"Strong understanding of tenant setup, isolation, and identity governance
"Experience implementing Azure RBAC and admin role management
"Deep knowledge of Conditional Access (customer scenarios)
"Experience with MFA, session controls, and identity security best practices
"Practical experience building CIAM user flows and journeys
"Strong understanding of OpenID Connect (OIDC) and modern auth protocols
"Experience managing customer attributes and claims mapping
