About Position:\n\nWe are looking for a Senior System Administrator with 5 to 8 years of experience to manage end-to-end operations, stability, and continuous improvement of cloud and on-prem infrastructure environments. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in Linux and Windows administration, AWS cloud operations, proactive monitoring, advanced troubleshooting, and the ability to independently handle complex incidents. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cloud, network, security, and application teams while mentoring junior engineers and driving operational excellence.\n\nRole: Senior System Administrator\nLocation: Pune\nExperience: 5 to 8 years\nJob Type: Full Time Employment\n\nWhat You'll Do:\n\nIndependently manage day-to-day administration, monitoring, and support of cloud and on-prem infrastructure environments\nAdminister, troubleshoot, and optimize Linux and Windows Server environments, including installations, upgrades, patching, and performance tuning\nProactively monitor infrastructure health using monitoring tools and dashboards, analyze trends, and help prevent incidents before they occur\nHandle L2/L3 incidents within defined SLAs and provide technical leadership during complex or high-severity issues\nLead or actively participate in major incident calls, ensuring timely resolution, clear communication, and proper RCA documentation\nProvide advanced support for infrastructure services including operating systems, networking, virtualization, and cloud platforms\nPerform in-depth network troubleshooting involving DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers\nSupport AWS cloud environments with provisioning, monitoring, cost awareness, and issue resolution\nManage incidents, changes, and problems using ITSM tools, ensuring adherence to ITIL best practices\nPlan and execute patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities with minimal service disruption\nPerform capacity planning, performance analysis, and availability reporting, and share actionable insights with stakeholders\nMentor and guide junior engineers, review their work, and support skill development within the team\nDrive operational improvements through automation, scripting, and process optimization\nMaintain accurate system documentation, configuration records, SOPs, and runbooks\nCollaborate closely with cloud, network, security, and application teams to ensure reliable and secure service delivery while maintaining compliance with operational standards\n\nExpertise You'll Bring:\n\n5 to 8 years of extensive experience in system administration across Linux and/or Windows environments\nStrong hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Operations, including service monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support\nProven experience in infrastructure monitoring, alert tuning, capacity tracking, and availability management\nAbility to create, review, and improve SOPs, runbooks, and operational documentation\nSolid experience with ITSM tools and ITIL-based processes for incident, problem, and change management\nPractical exposure to automation and scripting using Shell, PowerShell, or Python to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency\nStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills across infrastructure, networking, and cloud environments\nPractical understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers\nExperience working in a fast-paced 24×7 production support environment with rotational after-hours or weekend support\nClear and confident verbal and written communication skills, including customer and stakeholder interactions; AWS certification is preferred\n\nBenefits:\n\nCompetitive salary and benefits package\nCulture focused on talent development with quarterly growth opportunities and company-sponsored higher education and certifications\nOpportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies\nEmployee engagement initiatives such as project parties, flexible work hours, and Long Service awards\nAnnual health check-ups\nInsurance coverage: group term life, personal accident, and Mediclaim hospitalization for self, spouse, two children, and parents\n\nValues-Driven, People-Centric & Inclusive Work Environment:\n\nPersistent is dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
