Job title: Equity Analyst


Job description:

I) We are seeking a Research Analyst for listed and unlisted equity. Key responsibilities are:

a) Research and analysis

-- Company analysis - business model, competitive advantage, scalability, management, CG, etc (bottom up)

-- Industry research - market trends and mega trends (top down)

-- Valuation and Peer analysis

-- Modelling: sanity check for assumptions and forecasts (not looking for excel minutiae)

-- Due diligence if needed: plant visits, scuttlebutt, channel checks, etc.

-- Research / investment meetings with various stakeholders

Above should culminate in generation of investment ideas and providing actionable recommendations


b) Deal execution (unlisted equity)

-- Participation in negotiation

-- Broad understanding of deal documents like Term Sheet, SSA, SHA, etc.

-- Coordinating with other stakeholders like promoters, legal for execution and compliance

-- Complete transaction life cycle documentation


c) Performance monitoring:

-- Preparing and maintaining database / analytics of investee's progress in terms of financials, future funding rounds and valuation, important events, etc.

-- Attending company meetings and related events


II) We expect the candidate to learn, grow and eventually start contributing to other aspects of a family office including:

-- Build connections within the eco-system: advisors, wealth outfits, i-bankers, etc.

-- Evaluate managed products like SIF, MF, PMS, AIF, etc.

-- Participate in asset allocation decisions

-- Contribute to international diversification efforts

-- Learn to develop a balance between absolute returns and risk-adjusted returns

-- Provide insights on market conditions and outlook


III) Essential requirements:

-- Prior experience as buy-side equity analyst at a fund or family office

-- CA or MBA (Finance) qualification

-- Relevant work-ex: 3-8 yrs


IV) Desirable attributes:

-- Experience of debt / credit markets

-- Working knowledge of applicable laws

-- CFA Candidate or Charterholder


V) Note to candidates:
