Position Summary
A leading private tertiary-care hospital in the Caribbean Region is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to join its busy and well-established Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine practice. The successful candidate will be a highly skilled clinician with demonstrated expertise in both the diagnostic and therapeutic management of gastrointestinal and hepatology disorders. You will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment supported by a modern, fully equipped GI practice, while enjoying an exceptional work-life balance in a beautiful island setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive consultative and procedural gastroenterology care to a diverse patient population.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, polypectomy, dilation, and management of GI bleeding.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disorders, including complex cases.
• Manage liver, pancreatic, biliary, and inflammatory bowel diseases.
• Develop and implement individualized patient treatment plans.
• Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and other specialists to ensure integrated, patient-centered care.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation in line with international clinical standards.
• Contribute to quality assurance initiatives, clinical audits, and evidence-based practice.
• Provide patient education and preventive care counseling.
• Supervise and mentor junior doctors and clinical staff as required.
• Engage in continuing medical education and professional development activities.
Qualifications
• Board Certification in Gastroenterology (required) with an active medical license in good standing.
• MD / DNB / DM (Gastroenterology) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 2 years of post-fellowship clinical experience in both outpatient and inpatient gastroenterology (3–5 years preferred).
• Currently registered with, or eligible for medical registration in the Caribbean region prior to commencing employment.
• Proficiency in therapeutic endoscopic techniques and management of advanced GI conditions.
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and a patient-focused approach.
