Fermentation Process Management\nLead end-to-end fermentation process operations for commercial manufacturing.\nEnsure process consistency, batch reproducibility, and optimum fermentation performance.\nMonitor critical fermentation parameters including pH, temperature, aeration, agitation, feed strategy, and dissolved oxygen levels.\nDrive yield improvement and process optimization initiatives.\nEnsure contamination-free fermentation operations across all stages.\n\nInoculum & Seed Fermentation Oversight\nOversee inoculum preparation and seed fermentation activities.\nEnsure timely availability of healthy inoculum cultures for commercial production batches.\nStandardize inoculum development and aseptic handling practices.\nImprove inoculum efficiency and reduce contamination risks.\n\nProcess Excellence & Optimization\nDrive continuous improvement projects related to fermentation efficiency, productivity, cycle time, and process robustness.\nAnalyze process trends and implement corrective and preventive measures.\nOptimize media composition, feeding strategies, and fermentation conditions.\nSupport automation and digital process monitoring initiatives.\n\nTechnology Transfer & Scale-Up\nLead technology transfer activities from R&D to pilot plant and commercial production.\nEnsure successful scale-up and commercialization of new products and fermentation technologies.\nCoordinate pilot trials, validation batches, and process feasibility studies.\nMinimize scale-up risks and process variability.\n\nPilot Plant Management\nOversee pilot plant operations and process development activities.\nEnsure smooth transition of processes from laboratory scale to manufacturing scale.\nSupport process validation and engineering trials.\n\nGMP, Compliance & Documentation\nEnsure compliance with GMP, SOPs, biosafety, and regulatory requirements.\nReview and approve batch records, process documents, SOPs, and protocols.\nParticipate in audits, investigations, CAPA, change controls, and compliance reviews.\nEnsure proper documentation and data integrity practices.\n\nTeam Leadership & Development\nLead and mentor fermentation engineers, inoculum teams, and process excellence personnel.\nConduct technical training programs on fermentation technology and GMP practices.\nBuild a culture of innovation, accountability, and operational excellence.\n\nEducational Qualification\nB.Tech / M.Tech\nBiotechnology\nBioprocess Engineering\nAdditional qualification in Process Engineering or Operations Management preferred.\n\nExperience Required\n15–20 years of experience in fermentation-based biotechnology or bio-pharma manufacturing.\nStrong expertise in large-scale fermentation process operations and scale-up activities.
