Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Veeam Backup Administrator to join our Infrastructure Operations team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Veeam Backup & Replication, enterprise backup environments, troubleshooting complex backup issues, and providing L2/L3 support. The candidate should be capable of performing root cause analysis, managing backup infrastructure, handling escalations, and ensuring high availability and reliability of backup solutions.
Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and support enterprise backup environments using Veeam Backup & Replication.
  • Provide L2/L3 support for backup and recovery operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve backup failures, restore issues, and infrastructure-related incidents.
  • Perform detailed root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring backup issues and implement preventive measures.
  • Manage backup upgrades, patches, and version migrations.
  • Monitor backup performance and optimize backup and recovery processes.
  • Support and maintain tape library environments, including MSL, StoreOnce, and similar technologies.
  • Troubleshoot SAN connectivity and storage-related backup issues.
  • Coordinate and manage escalations with Veeam Support and other technology vendors.
  • Support cloud-based backup integrations with AWS and Azure environments.
  • Ensure compliance with backup policies, retention requirements, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in Veeam administration and support.
  • Strong expertise in Veeam Backup & Replication.
  • Experience providing L2/L3 support in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting backup failures and recovery issues.
  • Strong understanding of backup architecture, storage systems, and disaster recovery concepts.
  • Experience working with tape libraries such as MSL, StoreOnce, or similar solutions.
  • Knowledge of SAN infrastructure and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Experience performing backup platform upgrades, patch management, and maintenance activities.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure backup integrations.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and drive issue resolution.
  • Experience handling critical incidents and vendor escalations.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working in large-scale enterprise backup environments.
  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with storage technologies and data protection best practices.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant Veeam certifications will be an added advantage.
Key Requirements
  • Strong Veeam Backup & Replication experience is mandatory.
  • Candidates with predominantly L1 monitoring experience will not be considered.
  • Must have hands-on troubleshooting and administration experience in enterprise backup environments.
