About The Job:
- The SAGE X3 Functional Consultant - Financial Management & Controls is responsible for designing, configuring, and supporting the financial modules of SAGE X3.
- The role ensures strong financial governance, internal controls, compliance, and optimized financial processes for the organization.
- The consultant is expected to work closely with Finance, Audit, Compliance, and IT teams to deliver rob*** ERP solutions aligned with regulatory and organizational standards.
- This hybrid role combines functional consulting, problem-solving, and L2/L3 application support, working closely with cross functional teams across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales, Inventory, and Quality.
Essential Job Functions:
Financial Systems Analysis & Design
- Analyze and document business requirements for finance-related functions:
- General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Budgeting, Cash Management, Bank Reconciliation.
- Conduct gap analysis between business needs and SAGE X3 capabilities.
- Design workflows, approval processes, and controls aligned with organizational and audit requirements.
- Define requirements for statutory reporting, management reporting, and financial analytics.
- Support report development using SAGE X3 tools, SEI, Crystal Reports, or Power BI.
- Ensure ERP processes comply with GAAP/IFRS, internal audit standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop functional specifications, test scripts, process documentation, and SOPs for financial processes.
- Perform SIT and support UAT with Finance and Audit teams.
- Conduct end-user training for Finance, Procurement, and other stakeholder groups.
- Provide Level 2/3 functional support for financial modules.
- Troubleshoot issues related to transactions, period close, postings, and system controls.
- Collaborate with technical teams to resolve integration or c***omization issues.
- Ability to analyze logs, trace transactions, and validate data flows.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, JIRA, ZenDesk, etc.)
- Assist with financial data migration mapping and validation.
- Ensure data accuracy across integrated systems such as CRM, WMS, Procurement, Banking, or Payroll.
- Strengthen financial system controls and propose enhancements to reduce audit risks.
- Support enhancements, new features, rollouts, and configuration changes.
- Prepare and execute test cases for SIT and UAT; manage defect resolutions.
- Assist with release management, environment promotions, and controlled deployments.
- Collaborate with technical teams to validate c***omizations, reports, workflows, and integrations.
- Prepare functional documents: BRDs, SOPs, configuration guides, test scripts.
- Maintain training materials and conduct user training sessions.
- Build knowledge base articles for recurring issues and new features.
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Experience
- Functional Expertise
- 4-7 years of experience with SAGE X3 Finance modules.
- Hands-on expertise in:
- GL/AP/AR
- Fixed Assets
- Cash Management
- Budgets
- Bank Reconciliation
- Financial year-end and month-end processes
- Strong understanding of financial compliance, internal controls, and audit principles.
- Technical Awareness
- Familiarity with SAGE X3 development environment (4GL, scripts, dictionaries) is an advantage.
- Ability to write basic SQL queries, understand data structures, and work with IT teams.
- Experience with reporting tools (SEI, Crystal, Power BI) is preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Skilled in working with cross-functional teams including Finance, Audit, Compliance, and IT.
- Ability to multitask and work under SLA driven support environments.
- Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, IT, or related field (required).
- Professional certifications such as CA/CPA/CMA/ACCA are an advantage.
- Preferred Certifications
- SAGE X3 Financials Certification.
- ITIL Foundation, SOX/Controls certification, or ERP audit certifications (optional).
