About The Job:

• Experience :- 15+ Year relevant in ETL & Data Engineering (Informatica & DBT)
• Shift Timing :– 11:00 AM to 08:00 PM IST.

• Minimum 15+ Years relevant experience in ETL & Data Engineering spread across Informatica, DBT, Python & Airflow
• 10+ years of Informatica PowerCenter experience - mappings, sessions, workflows, and parameterization
• 3+ years of hands-on DBT Core experience - model layering, macros, tests, incremental materializations
• 3+ years of Airflow experience - DAG authoring, task dependencies, and incorporation with scheduling tool
• 5+ years of Python experience, including production use of parallelism and batch data processing
• 5+ years of SQL experience - complex joins, window functions, aggregations across large datasets
• Experience with Migration Informatica-to-DBT strongly desired

Qualifications:

• Required Skills & Experience
• 10–15+ years of enterprise data engineering or ETL modernization experience.
• 8+ years of Informatica PowerCenter experience - mappings, sessions, workflows, and parameterization
• 3+ years of hands-on DBT Core experience - model layering, macros, tests, incremental materializations
• 3+ years of Airflow experience - DAG authoring, task dependencies, and incorporation with scheduling tool
• 5+ years of Python experience, including production use of parallelism and batch data processing
• 5+ years of SQL experience - complex joins, window functions, aggregations across large datasets
• Experience with Git-based development, CI/CD pipelines, docker image, and environment promotion
• Experience with Oracle Data Pump (expdp/impdp) or SQL Server BCP / BULK INSERT for high-volume data movement
• Deep expertise in SQL-based transformation architectures and modern ELT patterns.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of DBT (Core or Cloud) and Python-based ingestion.
• Experience migrating legacy ETL platforms (e.g., Informatica) to modern data stacks.
• Strong client-facing communication and design leadership skills.

• Role Overview
• The Offshore Technical Lead serves as the day-to-day technical owner of the Informatica-to-dbt migration program.
• This role is responsible for driving consistent engineering execution, enforcing architectural standards, and ensuring delivery quality across multiple parallel migration waves and business units.
• This role operates within a large-scale data platform modernization program migrating from Informatica PowerCenter to a Python, DBT, and Airflow-based architecture.
• Our tech stack consists of Airflow + DBT + Python EL scripts, deployed on VMs via Docker Compose, scheduled by Control-M.

• Own and enforce DBT architectural standards, coding conventions, and model layering (staging → intermediate → marts).
• Act as the primary technical escalation point for Data Engineers and SMEs.
• Ensure consistency of implementation across SWP and IMS migration streams.
• Review and approve DBT models, Python extract/load scripts, and testing artifacts.

• Lead day-to-day development activities across wave-based migration plans.
• Coordinate task breakdown, sequencing, and dependency management with the Offshore Project Manager.
• Ensure accurate implementation of Informatica logic as translated into dbt and Python EL.
• Support defect triage, root-cause analysis, and remediation during SIT and UAT.
• Informatica to DBT Translation Oversight
• Partner with Informatica SMEs to validate correct interpretation of legacy mappings, sessions, and workflows.
• Guide Data Engineers on translating Informatica constructs (lookups, aggregators, routers) into efficient SQL/DBT patterns.
• Validate non-CDC load assumptions and idempotent batch processing logic.
• Quality, Testing & Performance
• Ensure unit testing, DBT tests, and validation checks are consistently implemented.
• Review performance considerations (incremental models, partitioning strategies, warehouse usage).
• Ensure parity with legacy Informatica outputs based on agreed validation criteria.

• Produce and maintain technical runbooks, design artifacts, and coding standards.
• Support training and onboarding of new engineers as migration scales.
• Ensure smooth transition to steady-state operations during hypercare and handover.
