Accountabilities:

  • Analyze Indian laws, regulations, and policy developments related to artificial intelligence and assess their impact on business operations and AI deployment.
  • Develop and articulate policy positions on emerging legislation, regulatory frameworks, and international AI standards.
  • Partner with global affairs and policy teams to support regulatory strategy, stakeholder engagement, and external communications.
  • Manage regulatory compliance matters in India and ensure alignment with evolving legal and governance requirements.
  • Collaborate with product legal teams to support safe, compliant, and scalable deployment of AI products and services.
  • Monitor and communicate key legislative and regulatory developments across India and the broader APAC region.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of AI governance frameworks as regulations evolve.
  • Engage with regulators, policymakers, and external stakeholders to represent organizational perspectives on AI policy.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of legal, regulatory, or policy experience in law firms, in-house legal teams, or government/institutional roles.
  • Strong background in technology law, with deep familiarity or demonstrated interest in AI-related legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven experience analyzing complex legislation and translating it into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Strong stakeholder management, leadership, and influencing skills across internal and external audiences.
  • Experience engaging with regulators, policymakers, or government bodies is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Strong ability to work in fast-moving, ambiguous, and evolving regulatory environments.
  • High level of strategic thinking combined with strong execution capabilities.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation aligned with senior legal leadership roles.
  • Fully remote-friendly work structure within India with flexibility based on role requirements.
  • Opportunity to work at the forefront of global AI regulation and policy development.
  • High-impact role with direct influence on emerging legal frameworks for artificial intelligence.
  • Exposure to global cross-functional teams across legal, policy, and product functions.
  • Inclusive and mission-driven environment focused on responsible AI development.
  • Strong professional growth opportunities in a rapidly evolving and highly specialized legal domain.
