Principal Architect, AI Solutions

This is a senior technical leadership role focused on shaping and scaling enterprise-wide AI capabilities across products, platforms, and engineering teams. The role sits at the intersection of architecture, innovation, and strategy, driving the adoption of modern AI patterns such as LLM-based systems, agentic workflows, and AI orchestration. You will influence critical technical decisions and define reusable architecture standards that guide AI development across the organization. Working closely with business and technology leaders, you will ensure AI solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise goals. The role requires strong architectural judgment, hands-on understanding of production AI systems, and the ability to lead without formal authority. You will also play a key role in enabling teams to adopt AI-powered development practices responsibly and effectively. Accountabilities:
- Lead the architecture design and governance of enterprise AI initiatives across products, platforms, and shared capabilities, ensuring scalability, security, and long-term maintainability.
- Partner with business units, product managers, and engineering teams to define end-to-end AI solution architectures aligned with strategic objectives.
- Develop and maintain architecture standards, reference frameworks, and guardrails for AI systems and AI-enabled software development practices.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and guide their adoption across the enterprise, including LLM systems, retrieval-augmented architectures, and agentic workflows.
- Provide technical leadership across AI orchestration, observability, evaluation frameworks, and responsible AI governance.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise requirements around security, privacy, compliance, resiliency, and operational excellence.
- Mentor senior engineers and technical leaders while contributing to architecture reviews, technical strategy, and investment decisions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or technology leadership roles.
- Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-grade AI solutions in production environments.
- Strong expertise in modern AI architectures, including LLM-based systems, vector databases, prompt/tool orchestration, retrieval systems, and evaluation methodologies.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, cloud-native platforms, data architecture, security, and integration patterns.
- Experience defining architecture standards and influencing multi-team engineering practices at scale.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior technical and business leaders.
- Ability to balance innovation, delivery speed, risk management, and long-term architectural sustainability.
