This is a specialized remote contract role focused on advanced parametric modeling and BIM interoperability using FreeCAD within a high-impact technical environment. You will apply deep expertise in CAD and building information modeling to create, structure, and validate complex digital building models aligned with IFC standards. The role plays a key part in producing high-quality, real-world engineering data that supports AI training systems and next-generation automation tools. You will work on end-to-end modeling workflows, ensuring precision, documentation quality, and cross-platform compatibility. Operating in a collaborative remote setup, you will contribute both technical outputs and structured knowledge to improve modeling intelligence systems. This position is ideal for experts who enjoy combining engineering precision with documentation, standards, and emerging AI-driven applications.
Accountabilities:
Lead end-to-end parametric modeling workflows in FreeCAD, ensuring accurate, structured, and production-ready outputs aligned with BIM and IFC standards.
- Develop and manage complex parametric 3D models from concept to final export using FreeCAD
- Apply BIM methodologies and IFC standards to structure, coordinate, and document building components such as walls, slabs, and structural systems
- Import, export, and validate IFC data to ensure interoperability across CAD and BIM platforms
- Create constrained sketches, parametric hierarchies, and reusable building components throughout project lifecycles
- Generate technical documentation and export models in formats such as STEP, STL, DXF, and IFC
- Document workflows, modeling logic, and BIM strategies in clear written and verbal formats
- Collaborate with technical teams to capture reasoning behind workflows for AI training and knowledge modeling purposes
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with engineering and BIM standards across all deliverables
Requirements:
This role requires advanced technical expertise in FreeCAD and strong practical experience in BIM-driven parametric modeling workflows.
- Strong hands-on expertise in FreeCAD with a portfolio demonstrating complex, end-to-end modeling projects
- Proven experience in parametric 3D CAD workflows from design conception through production-ready outputs
- Deep understanding of BIM principles and IFC standards, including relevant FreeCAD workbenches
- Experience working with building components, model structuring, and data interoperability requirements
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD and other 3D modeling software
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to clearly explain technical workflows and modeling decisions
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with distributed teams
- Strong attention to detail, technical accuracy, and engineering-level precision
- Preferred: experience contributing to FreeCAD open-source projects or plugin development
- Preferred: exposure to AI, machine learning, or structured technical documentation initiatives
- Preferred: knowledge of integrating FreeCAD with other BIM/CAD ecosystems
