Job Purpose

As the Head of Solution Architecture, you will be responsible for leading our Technology Architecture capability and strategy, managing a team of Architects and leading the technical solution design of solutions across the Inchcape eco-system. You will be responsible for ensuring technology standards are defined, aligned, and governed across all products,projects and programmes with a heavy focus on managing technical debt and championing its resolution as part of Product roadmaps.


Job Location: Chennai/ Pune


Duties and Responsibilities:

      Manage the Architecture team including the demand ensuring stakeholder expectations and quality of output is as required.

      Ensure guardrails are defined, in place and effective, supporting an agile way of working.
      Ensure the team provides the most senior source of technical design through hands on
      collaboration with all Product and Engineering teams.
      Provide thought leadership for how technology should be used to underpin the business
      objectives and operating model and subject matter expert on emerging technologies and methodologies, assessing their potential use within Inchcape
      Oversee technical design practices that support the execution of change across the organisation.Ensure design decisions are escalated via the appropriate routes and chair
      necessary design boards.
      Technical debt management and champion for eradication
      Establish and ensure adherence to architecture framework governance and architecture review board.
      Deputise for the VP - Product & Architecture as necessary


      Knowledge:

          Degree educated
          Expert in modern delivery practices
          TOGAF
          Solid understanding of modern tech stacks and cloud native architecture (AWS preferably (ECS, Postgres / Aurora, Lambda, etc.) React, C#, microservices, .Net)
          DevOps
          Low Code
          Storage design and optimization
          Microsoft tech stack
          Automation
          Product lifecycle
          Knowledge of maritime desirable

          Skills:

          Lead and motivate technical teams
          Identify, develop and retain talent
          Balance strategic leadership with hands on solution oversight
          Strong collaborative and partner approach
          Introduction, championing and embedding of new working practices
          Influencing across the organisation to raise overall digital capability
          Implement control and structure without stifling innovation and agility

          Confident communicator with executive stakeholders; able to bridge commercial, product, and technical domains.

          Experience:
          Proven experience as a Head of Architecture or Principal Architect in an
          enterprise technology business
          Built and established global ecosystem of solutions (including data, identity, workflow, finance)
          Identified and introduced emerging technology and delivery practices to help provide / sustain competitive advantage
