Desirable Skills:
Must-Have**
(Ideally should not be more than 3-5) 1. Extensive working knowledge on SQL Server and PostgreSQL
2. Configure DBMS monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms. Implement Automation using PowerShell Scripts. Good Knowledge on PowerShell Scripts is must.
3. Comprehensive implementation knowledge on SSIS, SSAS and SSRS.
4. Ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the business's Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)
5. Test backups to ensure we can meet the business' Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)
6. Troubleshoot Database service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends.
7. As new systems are brought in-house, choose whether to use clustering, log shipping, mirroring, SQL Azure, Always ON.
8. Implementation Knowledge on High Availability of Oracle Data Guard, Golden Gate, Always ON & SQL Azure.
9. Install and configure SQL Server, PostgreSQL and Oracle.
10. Deploy database change scripts provided by third party vendors
11. SQL Server Migration experience from SQL older to newer versions.
12. Cross Platform Migration experience (Oracle to SQL & Oracle to DB2 & MySQL to PostgreSQL).
Good-to-Have
• Experience in installing, configuring, designing SQL instances
• Must demonstrate experience to support, optimize and maintain Microsoft SQL 2016/2019 infrastructure with high availability.
• Working knowledge and hands on experience in On-prem to Azure SQL Server Migration is highly desirable.
