We are looking for a Java GenAI Tech Lead to bridge enterprise Java engineering and next-generation AI capabilities. You will own the design and hands-on delivery of scalable GenAI solutions, establish reusable patterns across the organisation, and mentor a team of engineers through a significant platform transformation.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead delivery of scalable Java applications using Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and microservices - maintaining strong hands-on involvement in code reviews, refactoring, and performance optimization.
- Design and implement enterprise-grade GenAI solutions: RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, vector database integration, and LLM orchestration using frameworks such as LangChain4j, Semantic Kernel, or Spring AI
- Define and govern prompt engineering standards, LLM evaluation pipelines, and observability tooling (e.g., LangSmith, Langfuse, or Datadog LLM monitoring) to ensure reliability and quality in production
- Establish reusable GenAI patterns and reference architectures that go beyond point tools - enabling consistent, responsible AI adoption across product teams.
- Integrate GenAI capabilities across the full SDLC: AI-assisted design, code generation, automated testing, and intelligent code review - not just Copilot-level tooling.
- Define and enforce enterprise guardrails covering security (OWASP LLM Top 10), responsible AI principles, PII/data governance, and DevOps/MLOps practices for AI workloads.
- Lead cloud-native migration and re-architecture initiatives on AWS or Azure, using services such as Azure OpenAI Service, Amazon Bedrock, EKS, Lambda, or API Gateway.
- Collaborate with product, data, and platform teams to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps, API contracts, and event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS/SNS).
- Mentor and upskill a team of 5-10 engineers on both modern Java engineering and GenAI practices; drive organization-wide adoption through documentation, guilds, and internal talks.
