Job Title: Senior Backend Engineer\n\nWhat you'll do\nDesign, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that power data-intensive products\nOwn database architecture — schema design, indexing strategy, backup/restore procedures, and high availability across environments\nMonitor scheduled jobs, workflows, and alerts; proactively diagnose and resolve issues before they impact users\nPerform SQL performance tuning and query optimization to keep systems fast at scale\nIntegrate AI tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude) into your daily development and troubleshooting workflow to accelerate delivery\nAutomate operational tasks through scripting and infrastructure-as-code practices\nCollaborate with data and product teams to translate requirements into robust, well-tested backend systems\n\nWhat we're looking for\n4+ years in backend engineering with significant hands-on database administration experience (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL)\nStrong proficiency building backend services in Python, Node.js, Java, or similar\nDeep expertise in database internals — execution plans, indexing, partitioning, replication, and disaster recovery\nSolid understanding of RESTful API design, service architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)\nExperience with job scheduling systems, alerting pipelines, and observability tooling\nStrong scripting skills for automation (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
