Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Engineer / Engineering Manager to lead strategic initiatives across AI Enablement, Forward Development, and core Software Development.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n- Lead engineering teams delivering AI-enabled platforms, forward development initiatives, and core software systems.\n- Drive large‑scale transformation programs, including platform modernization, refactoring initiatives, and migration efforts.\n- Own the design and delivery of shared tooling, frameworks, and developer productivity platforms.\n- Provide architectural guidance across backend services, APIs, distributed systems, and cloud‑native architectures.\n- Lead forward development efforts such as re‑engineering existing solutions, building new capabilities, proof‑of‑concepts, and next‑generation platform solutions.\n- Leverage product and platform consumption data to understand feature and tool usage, guiding design, prioritization, and improvement.\n\nCross‑Functional & Stakeholder Leadership\n\n- Partner with Product, Platform, Cloud, and DevEx teams to deliver cross‑company initiatives.\n- Work effectively across global, distributed engineering teams and multi‑geo delivery models.\n- Manage and influence senior stakeholders, providing clear technical direction, progress visibility, and risk management.\n- Translate business and platform strategy into executable engineering roadmaps.\n\nPeople Leadership\n\n- Manage, mentor, and grow senior engineers and technical leads.\n- Support Lead Engineers transitioning into people or platform leadership roles.\n- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.\n- Support hiring and onboarding of new engineers.\n\nAdditional Responsibilities\n\n- Mentor engineers through coaching, 1:1s, and career planning.\n- Collaborate across Product, Design, and Engineering teams.\n- Drive code reviews, architecture planning, and system monitoring.\n- Manage Agile ceremonies including planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming.\n- Champion innovation and continuous improvement.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or backend systems.\n- 6+ years of related experience; 4+ years with an advanced degree is acceptable.\n- Minimum 2 years of managing and developing employees within an engineering context.\n- Experience working as a Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager with people‑management responsibility.\n- Proven experience running large‑scale engineering transformation programs, including refactoring or platform modernization.\n- Hands‑on experience building or leading AI‑enabled systems, automation, or platform capabilities.\n- Strong backend development experience using Java, Go, Python, Node.js, or similar languages.\n- Solid foundation in system design, distributed systems, and API design.\n- Practical experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.\n- Experience working with global, distributed engineering teams.\n- Strong communication skills and proven ability to manage senior technical and business stakeholders.\n- Experience analyzing usage or consumption data to evaluate adoption and effectiveness of product features or internal tools.\n- Fluent written and oral communication in English.\n\nNice to Have\n\n- Experience with LLM‑based systems, AI agents, or AI platform enablement.\n- Experience building internal tooling, shared platforms, or developer enablement solutions.\n- Exposure to cloud migrations or large‑scale system refactoring programs.\n\nBenefits\n\n- Health & Wellness – competitive health insurance and generous paid parental leave for eligible new parents.\n- Hybrid Work Opportunities.\n- Flexible Time Off.\n- Career Development & Mentoring Programs.\n- Community Volunteering & Company Philanthropy Programs.\n- Employee Peer Recognition Programs (e.g., “You Earned it”).\n\nWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
