Data Product Owner / Senior Business Analyst\nReal Estate Private Equity (Data & Reporting)\n\nA large United States–based real estate private equity firm is seeking a Product Owner / Senior Business Analyst to support a multi-year initiative to modernize investment performance reporting, investor reporting, and allocation and billing related to corporate financial planning and analysis. This is a high-visibility, front-facing role with frequent interaction with Investments, Investor Relations, financial planning and analysis, and Accounting. You will act as the product owner for key data and reporting capabilities, translating business needs into clear requirements and guiding the work of data and analytics teams.\nRole Details\nLocation: Kochi (Hybrid)\nWorking Hours: Provide coverage with Client working hours (upto 1 am IST)\nTarget Industry: Asset Management / Private Equity / Real Estate Investment\n\nRole and Responsibilities\nProduct Ownership and Roadmapping\nOwn the product vision and roadmap for data and reporting capabilities across:\nTrack Record, Partner reporting, investor reporting, and allocation and billing related to corporate financial planning and analysis.\nWork with business leaders to prioritize initiatives, define scope, and agree on minimum viable products and success measures.\nDocument, maintain and communicate a clear backlog of features and enhancements for data engineering and business intelligence teams.\n\nRequirements, Analysis, and Design\nLead workshops and interviews with Investments, Investor Relations, financial planning and analysis, and Accounting to gather detailed requirements.\nDocument:\nBusiness requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.\nMinimum viable product definitions and success criteria for each release.\nAnalyze and map current-state processes and data flows across Yardi , Salesforce , Argus (preferred), Excel, and other systems.\nCollaborate with data modelers and data engineers on conceptual and logical data models (fund, asset, investor, performance, allocation, billing).\n\nBusiness Definitions, Glossary, and Catalog\nCreate and maintain the business glossary and key data definitions for:\nPerformance metrics (internal rate of return, net asset value, gross asset value, net operating income, stabilized operating income, etc.).\nInvestor and fund attributes, allocation and billing concepts, and financial planning and analysis metrics.\nPartner with data teams to maintain a data catalog , including source systems, curated tables, and key reports.\n\nTesting, Validation, and Rollout\nDefine test cases and scenarios that reflect real-world operating and investment scenarios.\nLead or support user acceptance testing:\nCoordinate business testers, track defects, and oversee resolution with technology teams.\nReconcile new reports and data outputs with legacy sources (existing systems and Excel) and document differences clearly.\nSupport rollout and adoption through training sessions, demonstrations, and clear communication.\n\nStakeholder Communication and Materials\nPrepare and maintain PowerPoint presentations, Excel templates, and Word documents for steering committees, working groups, and end-user sessions.\nClearly communicate priorities, risks, and decisions to both senior business stakeholders and technical teams.\nServe as the primary point of contact for questions about scope, timelines, and product direction.\n\nSkills and Experience\nStrong business analysis skills:\nRequirements gathering, process mapping, user story writing, and acceptance criteria.\nSolid understanding of real estate and investment concepts , including:\nInternal rate of return, net asset value, gross asset value, net operating income, stabilized operating income, fund and asset hierarchies, capital calls, and distributions.\nExcellent written and verbal communication; comfortable leading workshops and summarizing complex topics clearly.\nAbility to bridge business and technology:\nTranslate business language into structured requirements and data definitions.\nStrong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders.\nTypically 3 – 5 years as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or similar role.\nSignificant experience in real estate, private equity, asset management, or broader financial services .\nPrior work with property management systems and investment data (Yardi, Salesforce, Argus, or equivalents).\nDemonstrated success working across business and technology on data and reporting programs , including investor reporting and corporate financial planning and analysis.\n\nTools\nProficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word .\nExperience with Jira, Confluence or similar tools for backlog, requirements, and issue tracking.\nFamiliarity with process mapping tools (such as Visio, Lucidchart, Miro).\nExperience with business glossary and data catalog tools .\nExperience working with or alongside:\nYardi and Salesforce is required.\nArgus experience is strongly preferred.
