Profile: Head of Purchase-Solar-Surat-9.6 LPA

Experience: 

• 8-10 years in Procurement/Purchase 
• Knowledge of handling raw material import purchase is a must of 6 to 7 years in the solar field
• Minimum 5+ years in Solar Manufacturing / High-tech Electronics

Salary Range: 9 to 9.6 LPA

Roles:

• • Lead end-to-end procurement of solar BOM (Cells, Glass, EVA, Backsheet, Frames, JBs, etc.) ensuring cost efficiency and uninterrupted production
  • Strategically source Solar Cells (Mono-PERC, TopCon) from global & domestic Tier-1 suppliers
  • Secure long-term contracts with key vendors for all critical components
  • Build and maintain multi-vendor sourcing strategies to reduce dependency and mitigate risks
  • Negotiate aggressively to optimize “landed cost per watt” and improve margins in competitive tenders
  • Track global market trends (silicon pricing, freight rates, USD/INR fluctuations) to plan procurement cycles
  • Ensure compliance with ALMM, BIS, IEC standards through vendor alignment and quality checks
  • Handle DCR-compliant procurement for government and tender-based projects
  • Oversee import/export operations including customs clearance, freight forwarding, port coordination, and international logistics management
  • Handle end-to-end import procurement activities including supplier coordination, import documentation, shipment tracking, customs processes, and duty structure management
  • Must have strong knowledge and hands-on experience in import purchasing and international vendor management
  • Implement JIT procurement strategies to balance inventory cost and avoid production downtime
  • Coordinate with finance for LC, BG, advance payments, foreign remittances, and vendor settlements
  • Draft and manage procurement contracts with strong clauses on delivery, quality, penalties, and import compliance terms
  • Develop strong relationships with international suppliers and freight partners to ensure timely material availability
  • Must have prior experience in Solar Panel Manufacturing industry with understanding of module production requirements and procurement planning
  • Collaborate closely with production, planning, and quality teams to ensure smooth manufacturing operations and uninterrupted material flow

Qualification:

• B.Tech (Mechanical/Electrical)
• MBA in Supply Chain / International Business preferred
• Proficiency in TallyPrime, SAP or specialised ERP Procurement modules
