- Perform structural engineering for modular designs used in thermal and water treatment systems including preassembled skids, modules, pipe racks, and platforms.
- Implement advanced structural design methodologies using STAAD Pro and other engineering software to optimize structural design and reduce material costs.
- Select appropriate construction materials ensuring structural stability and compliance with project specifications and site conditions.
- Coordinate with piping engineering teams to integrate structural designs with skid and module layouts.
- Develop and implement standardized and modular pipe rack designs to reduce site work and improve installation efficiency.
- Utilize BIM technology as part of the engineering process to integrate structural elements within overall plant designs across global design centers and customer interfaces.
- Perform wind load, seismic load, and snow load analysis for complex structural systems and provide loading data for foundation design.
- Conduct rigging and handling studies for assembled structural modules and equipment structures.
- Perform transportation studies for road and sea transportation of large skids and modular structures.
- Support the Applications / Proposal team with design inputs, BOQs, and engineering estimates during FEED phases such as FEL-2 and FEL-3.
- Guide structural designers and drafters to ensure structural analysis outputs are correctly incorporated into fabrication and manufacturing drawings.
- Prepare foundation bolt layouts and anchor bolt designs for equipment, pipe racks, and large structures.
- Visit project sites when required to assess installation completeness and troubleshoot structural or civil issues.
- Review engineering documentation including material take-offs (MTO), GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and erection drawings.
- Prepare technical reports, engineering specifications, and structural design documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with engineering teams, customers, and vendors.
Must-Have Skills:
- Strong knowledge of structural engineering and analysis for industrial plants or modular structures.
- Proficiency in STAAD Pro or similar structural analysis software.
- Experience performing wind, seismic, and load analysis for structural systems.
- Knowledge of structural steel design, pipe racks, platforms, and modular structures.
- Understanding of foundation loads, anchor bolt design, and structural stability analysis.
- Experience coordinating with piping, civil, and engineering teams.
- Ability to review structural drawings, fabrication drawings, and engineering documentation.
