Data Engineer

Job Summary\n\nWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer with 8+ years of hands-on experience in modern data engineering, specializing in Google Cloud data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in building and managing scalable data lakes, designing robust ETL/ELT pipelines, and leading client-facing data initiatives. Experience with Informatica ETL tools is a strong advantage.\nThis role requires both deep technical capability and leadership skills to manage client interactions, troubleshoot complex data issues, make architectural decisions, and build a high-performing data engineering team over time.\n\n• Key Responsibilities\n• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Google Cloud data services.\n• Architect and manage enterprise-grade data lakes and data platforms.\n• Work extensively with BigQuery, Dataproc, and Datastream for data ingestion, processing, and analytics.\n• Implement best practices for data modeling, partitioning, performance optimization, and cost management.\n• Lead end-to-end data engineering solutions from requirement gathering to production deployment.\n• Collaborate directly with client teams to understand business requirements, diagnose issues, and provide effective solutions.\n• Make critical technical decisions for data architecture, performance tuning, and issue resolution.\n• Mentor junior engineers and gradually build and lead a strong data engineering team.\n• Ensure data quality, reliability, governance, and security standards are maintained.\n• Provide support for ETL processes, with exposure to Informatica being an added advantage.\n\n• Required Skills & Experience\n• 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering and Data Platform development.\n• Strong hands-on experience with:\nGoogle BigQuery\nGoogle Dataproc\nGoogle Datastream\n• Solid understanding of Data Lake architecture and modern data technologies.\n• Expertise in designing ETL/ELT pipelines and large-scale data processing.\n• Strong SQL and data modeling skills.\n• Experience handling client communications and technical issue resolution.\n• Proven ability to take ownership and make independent technical decisions.\n\nPreferred Skills\n• Experience with Informatica ETL tool.\n• Experience in performance optimization and cost optimization on Google Cloud.\n\n• Leadership & Soft Skills\n• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.\n• Strong communication skills with the ability to work with client stakeholders.\n• Capability to mentor, guide, and build a data engineering team.\n• Proactive mindset with ownership and accountability.
