The Company
Our client is a Mumbai-based automation and robotics company founded in 2005. They are market leaders and serve quick commerce, e-commerce, 3PL, fashion & apparel, F&B, pharma, electronics, renewable energy, and manufacturing.
Purpose
Lead the combined Electrical and Mechanical Design function, delivering robust, manufacturable, and cost-optimised designs across company's conveyors, sortation systems, packing lines, material-handling equipment, and robotics.
Key Responsibilities
%CF; Team leadership: Lead and mentor the Electrical and Mechanical design teams; own design quality, standards, documentation, and timelines.
%CF; Product design: Drive design of intralogistics equipment — conveyors, sortation, profiling, packing automation, and AMR/AGV integration.
%CF; Mechanical & Electrical / Controls: Oversee mechanical design (structures, drives, mechanisms) and electrical/controls design (panels, drives, sensors, PLC/automation architecture).
%CF; Standardisation: Modularise and standardise designs for faster delivery and lower cost; lead design-for-manufacture and value engineering.
%CF; Cross-functional: Partner with Product, Supply Chain, Production, and Project teams from concept through to commissioning.
Ideal Candidate
%CF; 12–18 years in design engineering for material handling, automation, special-purpose machines, or capital equipment.
%CF; Strong span across both mechanical and electrical/controls design (or deep in one with proven leadership across both).
%CF; Hands-on with CAD/PLM, automation/controls, and product design for manufacturing.
%CF; B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics); M.Tech a plus.
