SuccessFactors Time Tracking Consultant – Support Project Job Description

  • Role overview
    • Provide ongoing application support, administration, and continuous improvement for SAP SuccessFactors Time Tracking, including Time Sheet and Clock In Clock Out, integrated with Employee Central and downstream payroll systems
    • Ensure stable operations through incident resolution, configuration maintenance, release management, and adoption of SAP Best Practices for Time Tracking, with a focus on production support rather than greenfield implementation
  • Key responsibilities
    • Application operations and incident management
      • Triage, analyze, and resolve production issues across Time Sheet, Time Valuations, Time Types/Groups, Work Schedules, Holiday Calendars, and Time Profiles; use Admin Center and related tools to validate and correct configurations and data
      • Use Check Tool to identify users eligible for and using Time Tracking functions (for example, Clock In Clock Out, time collectors, single-record approvals, grace rounding) and remediate gaps found in checks
      • Manage Clock In Clock Out operational issues: time event intake from web/mobile or terminals, event classification via Time Event Types, CICO Groups, validation and pairing outcomes, and workflows for manual corrections or deletions when terminals fail
      • Own SAP Support incident process for Time Sheet/Time Tracking, applying SAP's Time Sheet FAQ guidance for repro steps, screenshots, RBP checks, configuration extracts, and recalculation notes before opening tickets
    • Configuration maintenance and small enhancements
      • Maintain and adjust Time Valuations and Time Type Groups to reflect policy changes (overtime tiers, cross-midnight handling, scheduled time categories, grace rules, containers/collectors, single-record approval) following SAP configuration guides and KBAs
      • Maintain role-based permissions for employees, managers, admins, and approval roles for Time Tracking, Time Sheet, and CICO
      • Perform minor provisioning switch requests and coordinate with SAP Support or implementation partners where policy allows (for example, enabling specific Time Tracking features or CICO) and always test in non-production first
    • Release and change management
      • Review What's New/Release FAQs for Time Tracking and Time Sheet; assess impact of new capabilities (for example, attendance quota, collision handling, dynamic breaks, valuation result timestamps, mobile temporary work schedules/holiday calendars, geofence enhancements) and plan safe adoption in TEST, then PROD
      • Coordinate Upgrade Center activities for the New Time Sheet UI and applicable Time Tracking content; validate regression risks and organize smoke testing
      • Activate and maintain Best Practices content where applicable and aligned with customer scope; ensure one authorized admin executes content activation in TEST as per guidance
    • Monitoring, compliance, and data quality
      • Monitor recalculations triggered by changes inside/outside the time sheet and ensure outcomes flow correctly to payroll integrations; address latecomer detection, rest rules, and grace rounding behaviors as configured
      • Oversee geolocation/geofencing usage in CICO mobile and reporting, ensuring employee consent and correct field configuration for compliance where enabled
      • Maintain consistency of core EC Time Management prerequisites (Time Off basics, Work Schedules, Holiday Calendars, Time Profiles) that underpin Time Sheet and Time Tracking
    • Integration support
      • Support integrations to payroll and external clock terminals or third-party clocks via the CICO microservice/APIs; ensure paired and validated time events flow to Time Sheet for valuation and payroll export
      • Coordinate with integration teams on error handling, API validations, and replication scenarios, including consolidated time recording or real-time attendance replication where applicable
    • Knowledge management and stakeholder enablement
      • Produce runbooks, known error records, and admin guides for operational tasks (approvals, recalculation handling, CICO corrections, Time Statement generation) and provide training/enablement to HR/time admins and managers
      • Advise business on feasible enhancements using Best Practices scope packages (for example, manage time tracking, setup CICO) and document impact to processes and controls
  • Required skills and experience
    • Strong functional knowledge of EC Time Management: Time Off/Time Sheet fundamentals and their dependencies (Work Schedules, Holiday Calendars, Time Profiles, Time Types, Time Type Groups)
    • Hands-on SuccessFactors Time Tracking administration: configuring and troubleshooting Time Valuations, time collectors/containers, validations, single-record approvals, grace rounding, and new Time Sheet UI features
    • Clock In Clock Out operations and configuration: Time Event Types, CICO Groups, derivations, validation and pairing, and workflows for manual events; familiarity with mobile/web clocking and terminal integrations
    • Provisioning and permissions: understanding activation switches for Time Tracking and CICO and required pre-requisites; ability to coordinate with SAP Support or partners for switch enablement and follow-up activities
