Platform Engineer
As a Platform Engineer within our Operations Engineering Center, you'll engineer and maintain the cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and developer experience tooling that enables Billtrust's platform teams to innovate rapidly and deploy reliably. You'll work across AWS (primary), Azure, and modern DevOps technologies to create self-service platforms and intelligent deployment automation.
You'll engineer AI-enabled deployment validation systems, autonomous rollback agents, and agentic CI/CD pipeline optimization. Your platform engineering excellence will empower developers while pioneering the integration of AI and autonomous agents into deployment and infrastructure management workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure architecture across AWS platforms
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins
- Implement and manage infrastructure-as-code using Terraform
- Design and operate Kubernetes clusters, container orchestration, and service mesh architectures
- Engineer AI-enabled deployment validation agents and autonomous rollback systems
- Build agentic CI/CD pipeline optimization systems using LLM-assisted analysis
- Implement GitOps practices and automated deployment workflows
- Design and manage VPC, networking, DNS, load balancing, and connectivity solutions
- Create developer self-service tooling and platform abstractions to improve developer experience
- Develop infrastructure drift detection and automated remediation capabilities using AI
Required Qualifications
Experience & Technical Background
- 5+ years of hands-on DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure experience
- Deep expertise with cloud platforms (AWS primary, Azure experience beneficial)
- Strong proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
- Hands-on Kubernetes and container orchestration experience (ECS acceptable)
- Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab)
- Strong networking fundamentals (VPC, DNS, load balancing, security groups)
- Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (Python, Go, Bash preferred)
- Proficiency using Claude Code, Github Copilot or similar AI coding assistance
