JOB DESCRIPTION: Financial Controller
Location: Delhi, India
Reporting to: Group Financial Controller
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Financial Controller with 5–10 years of relevant experience to support our finance team in managing the company’s controllership team. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial reporting, consolidation, compliance, and analysis, preferably within a Big Four firm or a fintech/tech company. This role will support monthly financial reporting, audits and compliance ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting & Group Controllership
Review and sign off on the monthly management accounts across the Group and all 16 legal entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
Serve as the primary contact for external auditors across the annual statutory audit cycle for all entities incl Group consolidated audit — driving efficient close and resolution of audit queries.
Review balance sheet substantiation across entities, including AR/AP, provisions, accruals, risk reserves, and intercompany positions.
Oversee technical accounting matters including ESOP valuation and accounting, capitalisation and amortisation policy, and revenue recognition.
Drive process improvement and internal controls across the finance function, identifying opportunities to strengthen governance and improve efficiency.
Tax, Transfer Pricing & Regulatory Compliance
Review annual corporate income tax filings across all 16 entities, ensuring full compliance with local tax laws in each jurisdiction.
Own the group's transfer pricing framework — including intercompany allocation methodology, benchmarking studies, and annual documentation updates.
Review GST/VAT returns and TDS/WHT filings.
Prepare and submit MAS regulatory reports (Semi-annual and Annual finance portions) and liaise with MAS on finance-related regulatory queries.
Ensure corporate insurance coverage is appropriate, current, and well-documented across all geographies (PI, D&O, WICA, premises, crime insurance).
Monitor changes in tax legislation and accounting standards, assessing implications for the group and ensuring timely implementation.
Corporate Governance & Singapore Affairs
Sign off on all Corporate Secretary documentation and provide guidance on corporate governance matters across the group.
Liaise with corporate secretaries on annual returns, changes of officers, AGM preparation, board minutes, and statutory filings across all 16 entities.
Lead AVM and investor documentation processes, and serve as the key Finance contact for due diligence requests and fundraising processes.
Own SG Grants — including identification, application, documentation, drawdown, and compliance reporting.
Commercial Finance & Business Partnering
Support Group and entity level leadership with financial insights, variance analysis, and performance tracking
Review monthly revenue reporting and board-level variance analysis prepared by the FP&A team, escalating to the GFC for final sign-off.
Support the annual budgeting cycle, half-yearly re-forecast, and preparation of licensing-related financial projections.
Review non-standard commercial contracts (customer, rail, and vendor) — flagging unusual terms, compliance risks, and commercial implications.
Partner with legal, compliance, and operations stakeholders to support new market entry, licensing applications, and product launches from a finance and regulatory perspective.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Degree in Accountancy or recognizable accounting qualifications (CA / CPA / ACCA certification)
5-10 years of experience, preferably someone who has worked in a Big Four firm, financial services or a fintech/tech company.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and financial compliance standards.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Xero, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and financial reporting tools (Power BI, QuickSight, Tableau).
Advanced proficiency in Excel
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
