Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Engineer to support enterprise reporting, analytics, and modernization initiatives. This role will be responsible for Power BI development, platform support, stakeholder engagement, and driving the migration from Power BI to Microsoft Fabric. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, data modeling, analytics platform administration, and business intelligence solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Power BI Development
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements.
- Transform complex data into actionable insights and visualizations for stakeholders.
Power BI Enhancements
- Optimize and enhance existing Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Improve report performance, visuals, usability, and business logic.
Monitoring & Support
- Monitor and resolve scheduled refresh failures and data issues.
- Manage support tickets and provide troubleshooting for gateway configurations, data source connectivity, and report refreshes.
- Support ad hoc business requests related to Power BI and analytics platforms.
Power BI Office Hours
- Facilitate regular sessions to assist users with Power BI-related questions, best practices, and reporting guidance.
Migration & Modernization Initiatives
- Lead or support migration projects involving the transition of Power BI solutions and data platforms to Microsoft Fabric.
- Modernize reporting, analytics, and data integration processes.
Fabric Environment Management
- Manage and govern Microsoft Fabric capacities.
- Monitor platform utilization and performance to ensure operational stability.
- Support adoption of Fabric Dataflows, Lakehouse architecture, and modern analytics workflows.
Business Engagement
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and priorities.
- Conduct regular meetings to review issues, upcoming initiatives, and platform-related requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience with Microsoft Power BI (Desktop and Service)
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
- Proficiency in DAX and Power Query
- Strong SQL skills
- Experience with data modeling and analytics solutions
- Knowledge of Fabric Dataflows and Lakehouse architecture
- Power BI administration, governance, and security experience
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise reporting and analytics environments
- Understanding of data warehousing and modern cloud-based analytics platforms
- Experience leading or supporting analytics modernization initiatives
