Job Description
This role ensures timely, accurate settlement of trades across asset classes, supports issue resolution, drives process improvements, and acts as a key liaison between operations, technology, risk, and front office teams.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n1. Trade Settlement & Operations:\nAct as the functional SME for the end to end trade settlement process across asset classes such as Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Derivatives, and Funds\nEnsure timely and accurate trade settlement in line with market deadlines and regulatory requirements\nMonitor, analyze, and resolve failed or unmatched trades, breaks, and exceptions\nOversee reconciliations between internal systems, custodians, clearing houses, and counterparties\nSupport corporate actions, lifecycle events, and post trade adjustments impacting settlement\n\n2. Risk, Controls & Compliance:\nEnsure compliance with global settlement regulations (e.g., T+1 / T+2, CSDR, SEC, local market rules)\nIdentify settlement risk exposures and recommend mitigation strategies\nSupport internal audits, regulatory reviews, and control testing\nMaintain and enhance SOPs, process documentation, and control frameworks\n\n3.
Stakeholder & Client Management:\nServe as the primary escalation point for complex settlement issues\nPartner with Front Office, Middle Office, Treasury, Compliance, Technology, and Custodians\nProvide SME support for client queries, onboarding, and new product launches\n\n4. Change, Transformation & Technology:\nProvide business requirements and SME support for system enhancements, automation, and process re engineering initiatives\nParticipate in UAT, regression testing, and implementation of settlement platforms\nDrive process efficiency, STP improvements, and cost reduction initiatives.\n\nRequired Skills & Qualifications:\n\nEducation:\nBachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field\nProfessional certifications (CFA, FRM, IOC, or equivalent) are an advantage\n\nExperience\n2+ years of experience in Trade Settlement, Post Trade Operations, or Securities Operations\nStrong hands on experience with settlement systems such as DTCC, Euroclear, Clearstream, SWIFT, or equivalent market infrastructures\nProven experience supporting multiple asset classes and global markets\n\nTechnical & Functional Skills\nIn depth knowledge of trade lifecycle, clearing & settlement processes\nStrong understanding of settlement instructions, confirmations, affirmations, and matching\nExperience with reporting tools, reconciliations, and exception management platforms\nAdvanced MS Excel and working knowledge of automation or workflow tools\n\nSoft Skills\nStrong analytical and problem solving abilities\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills\nAbility to work under pressure in a time critical, deadline driven environment\nLeadership mindset with mentoring or advisory capabilities\n\nPreferred Attributes:\nExperience supporting T+1 settlement migration or regulatory change programs\nExposure to Agile / Waterfall project delivery models\nKnowledge of custody, clearing broker, or buyside operations models\n\nDocuments to Carry:\nCarry a printout your updated resume.\nCarry any 2 photo Identity proof (PAN Card/Driving License/Voters ID card/Passport).\nAll original education documents needs to be available for verification.
