Job Description

This internship is designed for someone studying furniture design, product design, or a related discipline who wants real studio experience. You'll work alongside our designers on live projects — both for client brands and our own collection — learning how ideas move from sketch to specification to production.\n\nWe're looking for someone curious, detail-oriented, and genuinely passionate about furniture and making. You don't need to know everything yet — but you do need to be eager to learn and willing to roll up your sleeves.\n\nWhat You'll Be Doing Design & Modelling\n– Assist with 3D modelling in Rhino — building, refining, and iterating on furniture forms\n– Support the preparation of drawings and design presentations for internal review and client meetings\n– Help explore and visualise design options through sketching, physical models, or digital renders\n– Research materials, finishes, hardware, and manufacturing techniques to feed into live projects\nTechnical Support\n– Assist in preparing Rhino drawings — learning to produce clean, accurate, dimensioned documentation\n– Support the team in organising and maintaining drawing files, project folders, and specification documents\n– Help compile technical packs and sample boards for client and factory review\nStudio Day-to-Day\n– Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and studio critiques\n– Assist with prototyping, material sourcing, and workshop activities as needed\n– Contribute to the general organisation and smooth running of the studio\n\nWhat We're Looking For Skills & Software\n– Working knowledge of Rhino 3D — able to model basic to intermediate geometry\n– Familiarity with AutoCAD or willingness to learn quickly\n– Sketching ability — hand drawing is a valued part of our design process\n– Basic Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign or Photoshop) is a plus\nQualities\n– Genuine interest in furniture, materials, and how things are made\n– Attention to detail — you care about getting things right\n– Proactive and willing to take initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do\n– Good communicator — able to ask the right questions and listen well\n– Comfortable in a small studio environment where the work is real and the feedback is direct\nBackground\n– Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree in Furniture Design, Product Design, Interior Design, or Architecture\n– A portfolio demonstrating design thinking, 3D work, and an interest in furniture or objects — even if early-stage\n\nWhat You'll Gain – Hands-on experience across the full furniture design process — from concept to production documentation\n– Direct mentorship from senior designers in a working studio environment\n– Exposure to real client projects and an understanding of how design consultancy operates\n– Working knowledge of industry-standard tools and workflows\n– A deeper understanding of furniture manufacturing and what it takes to bring a design to market\n– Strong portfolio material from live project involvement\n\nCompensation This is a paid internship.
