IMPORTANT: Most beneficial if you are available during Pacific Standard Time business hours.\nTo apply for this job you must send your hourly rate and resume to only.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using C# and .NET Core\nBuild and enhance RESTful APIs, backend services, and business logic layers\nUtilize AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering workflows to improve productivity, code quality, testing, and documentation\nDevelop and optimize database structures, queries, and ORM implementations\nImprove application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability\nCollaborate with front-end developers to support application integrations\nWork closely with QA to ensure test coverage, regression stability, and application quality\nLeverage AI tools to assist with debugging, code reviews, testing automation, and development acceleration\nAssist with CI/CD pipeline integration and deployment best practices\nParticipate in architecture discussions and technical planning\nDocument technical solutions, architectural decisions, and development standards using modern AI-enhanced documentation workflows where appropriate\nIdentify technical risks and propose effective solutions\nSupport cloud-native and containerized application environments using Docker and related technologies\nContribute to security, authentication, and authorization implementations (OAuth, JWT, etc.)\nStay current with emerging AI technologies, software engineering trends, and backend development best practices\nRequired Qualifications\n7+ years of professional backend software development experience\nStrong expertise in C#, .NET Framework, and .NET Core\nStrong understanding of backend architecture and distributed systems\nExperience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend services\nExperience using modern AI-assisted software development tools and workflows\nSolid experience with SQL and relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar)\nExperience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure\nHands-on experience with Docker and containerized deployments\nStrong understanding of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices\nAbility to work efficiently in fast-paced environments using automation and AI-enhanced development practices\nComfortable working in a freelance/contract capacity with minimal oversight\nStrong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills\nNice to Have\nExperience with AI-integrated development environments and coding assistants\nExperience with microservices architecture\nFamiliarity with Kubernetes or AWS ECS\nExperience integrating with front-end frameworks such as Angular or React\nKnowledge of CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.)\nExperience with performance tuning and application monitoring\nKnowledge of security best practices for backend applications\nPrevious experience working on enterprise SaaS or education technology platforms\nExperience implementing AI-powered features, workflows, or integrations into software products\nFull-stack development experience is a plus\nEngagement Details\nFreelance / independent contractor role\nFlexible hours with some overlap with Pacific Standard Time (PST) business hours\nHow to Apply\nTo apply for this job you must send your hourly rate and resume to only.
