The Asia Investor Group on Climate Change (AIGCC) is Asia's leading member-based advocacy and investor engagement organisation focused on the financial, economic and investment implications of climate change. AIGCC is an initiative to create awareness and encourage action among Asia's asset owners and financial institutions about the risks and opportunities associated with climate change and low carbon investing. AIGCC provides capacity and a trusted forum for investors active in Asia to share best practice and to collaborate on investment activity, credit analysis, risk management,engagementand policy related to climate change.

AIGCC members come from 11 different markets in Asia and internationally and include asset owners and managers with a combined AUM of over US$30trillion. With a strong international profile, the AIGCC network also engages with government pension and sovereign wealth funds,insurers, and endowments, AIGCCrepresentsthe Asian investor perspective in the evolving global discussions on climate change and the transition to a net-zero emissions economy.


Role description & responsibilities

This newly created senior role will be AIGCC's lead representative in India, responsible for driving the India market strategy across investor practice, corporate engagement, and policy work. The role will also provide strategic leadership for AIGCC's emerging markets investment agenda, covering key markets such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and other developing economies inSouth and Southeast Asia.

Thesuccessful candidatewill build AIGCC's member base,conveneinvestor dialogues, represent AIGCC with policymakers and regulators, and translate AIGCC's global frameworks into locally relevant, actionable guidance for institutional investorsoperatingin India and emerging markets more broadly.

This is afull-time position,basedinIndia. The role reports toDirectorsof Policy, InvestorPracticeandStewardshipat AIGCC.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead AIGCC's presence in India, acting as the organisation's senior representative with investors, policymakers, regulators, and industry bodies.
  • Set and deliver a focused India strategy, aligning investor engagement, policy advocacy, and capacity-building activities to support Indian institutional investors in the net-zero transition.
  • Build and grow AIGCC's network in India, strengthening relationships with asset owners, asset managers, and key market stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic input onemergingmarkets, contributing to AIGCC's broader investment agenda across South and Southeast Asia, and ensuring relevance to investors.
  • Support investor capability and insight, including shaping practical guidance,conveninginvestors, and contributing to research on climate investment opportunities in India and the region.
  • Engage key partners and stakeholders, including development finance institutions and industry groups, to help unlock investment opportunities and collaboration.
  • Represent AIGCC externally, including at high-level forums and events, to elevate the role of investors in climate finance.
  • Contribute to organisational priorities, including supporting funding opportunities, communications, and cross-team initiatives where needed.
  • Collaborate with the team to support project delivery whererequired.

Skills and qualifications

  • Minimum 12-15 years of professional experience in sustainable finance, climate investment, development finance, institutional asset management, or related fields, with significant exposure to Indian and/or Asian emerging markets.
  • Deep understanding of India's financial markets, regulatory landscape, and policy environment, withdemonstratedability to engage credibly with senior government and regulatory interlocutors.
  • Established network within India's institutional investor community (pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers) and/or relevant policy and regulatory bodies.
  • Track recordof developing and executing market strategies or programs in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Fluent spoken and writtenEnglishandHindiisa must.
  • Experience in supporting and coordinating the delivery of outcomes from international collaborations across multiple time zones,markets,and cultures.
  • Experience designing and managing engagement/investor campaigns or other significant and complex projects characterised by changing dynamics and myriad relationships.
  • Experience managing and strengthening relationships and coordinating with multipleteams.partners and coalitions, and/or consultantsboth internally and externally.
  • Ability to evaluate workload and prioritise projects in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Strong organisational, project management, writing, verbal communication and interpersonal and skillsanddemonstrateduse of integrating AI into workflow to enhance efficiency and maximise productivity
  • Strongentrepreneurial skills with abilityto work well independently and as a team member.
  • Desire to work in a mission-driven and non-profit environment.
