Director of Finance

The Director of Finance is responsible for leading the overall financial and accounting functions of the property, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, effective internal controls, and achievement of financial objectives.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the role partners closely with operational leaders to drive profitability, optimize costs, manage business risks, and support the strategic growth of the property. The position also plays a critical role in budgeting, forecasting, audit management, cash flow oversight, procurement governance, and financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all accounting, finance, stores, and financial control functions of the property.
• Prepare and manage annual budgets, monthly forecasts, financial reports, and performance analyses.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with company standards and statutory regulations.
• Maintain a strong internal control environment to safeguard company assets and mitigate business risks.
• Drive profitability through effective cost control, financial planning, and revenue enhancement initiatives.
• Ensure full compliance with local taxation, regulatory requirements, and corporate financial policies.
• Manage internal, external, and statutory audits while ensuring timely resolution of audit observations.
• Partner with the General Manager and Executive Committee to support strategic business decisions and operational performance.
• Oversee procurement governance, supplier management, contract reviews, inventory controls, and financial compliance processes.
• Monitor cash flow, profitability, and financial performance indicators, providing recommendations to improve business results.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies across all finance-related functions.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of books of accounts and adherence to established financial standards and reporting requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum 8-10 years of progressive Finance and Accounting experience within the hospitality industry, including experience in a senior finance leadership role.
• Professional qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of hospitality financial management, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, taxation, and compliance.
• Experience managing audits, financial reporting, procurement controls, and inventory management processes.
• Proven ability to drive financial performance, cost optimization, and business profitability.
• Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Experience working with hospitality financial systems, ERP platforms, and reporting tools.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic luxury hospitality environment while supporting strategic business objectives.
