This role evaluates problem statements and systematically determines whether a rule-based, statistical, or GenAI-driven approach is most appropriate based on factors like predictability, explainability, cost, latency, and risk.\nDesigns and implements deterministic pipelines (rules engines, heuristics, traditional ML) where outcomes are well-defined and repeatable, while enabling LLM/GenAI pipelines (RAG, agents, prompt workflows) only where ambiguity or unstructured reasoning truly requires it.\nOwns the evaluation, validation, and guardrail layer across both deterministic and AI-driven systems—establishing golden datasets, regression frameworks, and measurable quality metrics (accuracy, groundedness, latency, cost).
